Thought about that, but I am out of state. I live in Indiana, the car is in MD.
Where in MD is it? If you’re a serious buyer, I may be close enough to swing by and see it for you in person. I’m no mechanic, but I could at least make sure the paint is in good shape. Lmk!

There are plenty of good used Vettes out there at fair prices. You owe it to yourself to get a good car you're happy with while paying a fair price.
Is $1500 really worth not buying the rare combo you’re looking for in the grand scheme of things? If you’re in it for the best deal, and aren’t particular about the options and colors you end up with, then you’re right to keep shopping. At the end of the day, most people who can afford a $42000 used corvette can probably spring for a $45000 used corvette without being too heavily burdened. The point is just that circle jerking over a few bucks a month in payments is kinda silly if you really want want the car...
I think the price is a bit high, but then life is short and if it's what you want and you plan to keep it for a long time, then it doesn't really matter. Me, personally, I'd rather buy a new one for a bit more money and fewer options.

Shoot, around here it's $700. I hate car dealers.
(I went to MacMulkin to buy my C6 and C7 - no doc fees)

Silly to you, wouldn't be silly to me. This has nothing to do with "can I afford it or not." There are lots of good used Vettes out there, so no, I wouldn't let a car salesman jerk me around so he can make a few extra dollars.

I have seen this done on multiple occasions. You can put a half dozen current professional used car managers in front of an appraisal and ask for their value judgement. There will easily be a thousand-dollar difference in their estimations of wholesale value from high to low on a $40,000 unit...much less retail value. Perhaps you could tell us how you as an amateur knows the "car salesman" is jerking anyone around?
One thing I learned in 40 years of owning and operating, anyone on a forum who can call the value of a 40 some thousand dollar car to the last buck without even seeing it... is an idiot! The car is worth what a willing buyer is willing to pay a willing seller.
For a few thousand more you can likely find a new 2017-18 with a full warrantee. Check the forum dealers first. Personally, they are asking way too much for that Corvette

For a 3LT Z51? No chance you find a new one for within a few grand.

Again, my point is that this is a very specific and uncommon set of options. If this is exactly what the OP is searching for, it may very well be the only one, or one of a few available fir sale. Depending on his insistence of this combo, it comes down to getting a car or not. If you want the car, you pony up. If making a point is more your speed, carry on with the pissing match, but know that that salesmen is losing no sleep over not moving that car.
I suggest if you really like the car and could afford it THEN BUY IT PERIOD!!!!!!!! Don't listen to what other people say. So what if it's a $1000. or $1500. more then a good deal ,you may never find that combo again and regret not buying it when someone else does. If it's only $1500. more then average it's a no brainer to me. Good luck with your decision
I am sure they get "Joe-blows" CALLING all the time. Too bad they're out-of-state. You need to be there in-person and make your offer to be taken seriously.

That's false. I made a deal in minutes over the phone on a $73,000.00 RV. That was 15 years ago. Sight unseen. Picked it up the next week 2,000 miles away in So. Florida. Bought my last new Mercedes Benz over the phone in 3 minutes. $42,500.00. That was 19 years ago. Really, it's not that hard. Maybe you're timid?

I have to disagree. While deals can certainly be done remotely, if you’re bargaining hard, there’s not much replacement for the potential get someone to sign for a car without leaving. Even if you agree to something over the phone, there’s no legal deal till the contract is signed.
I found a 2014 3LT yellow with Kalarhi interior, 12k miles, and the following options:
- chrome wheels
- NPP
- Z51
- GT seats (non competition)
- regular dash (non-carbon fiber)
- manual
they want 45k plus 300 doc fee and then taxes. Is this too much?
I haven't found a lot of yellow vettes with kalahari but I don't want to spend thousands more to have it. I have trying to get it down to low 40s, but they won't budge.
I tried to negotiate they put on side skirts or PPF on the bumber, but they said no.

I think is is about an hour or so from Annapolis. Here is the address.
Winegardner Motor Company

I am not really doing a pissing match. I think I am more jaded by the fact they lied to me early on. I like the car, but my "screw this dealer for lying and not apologizing when getting caught in the lie" mentality is holding me back.

I missed that part. What did they lie to you about?

That’s totally understandable! Lmk if you get serious about it. It’s a bit of a drive, but if you’re really considering it I’ll try to make time to go look. Leonard town is kinda in BFE, so no one is going to accidentally find this car, for whatever that may be worth.

Maybe i neglected to mention it. Originally when I found the car last year, they had it listed for 49,700. I called them and tried to talk them down. But they would only go to 47, 900 saying that is what they bought the car for. So there is no more negotiation room. I told them that was too high and told them to call me back when they decided they actually wanted to sell the car. Several months went by and I saw the car listed at 47,900. I called them back and didnt' tell them who I was. They said they would give it to me for 45,000 but that was the lowest they would go because that is what they had in it.
I called them out on it and they said, 'well, that is what we have it in. I can't say why someone would say different before.'
So they are being shady about it and it erks me a bit to the point I don't want to give them any money. but at the same time, as some have pointed out. Its a rare color combo that I was looking for and had basically given up looking and was going to "settle" for a black interior.
