Powerstop Z26 reliability? Just from owners.
Seems like the Powerstop Z26 is a great choice of brake pads, just there are some comments about brown staining the rotors. I would like to see the proportion between happy VS unhappy customers. Z26 on Stingray owners please share us your experience with them.

Most people are happy with them. I thing there was a poll somewhere between Carbotech and powerstop. Numerous threads about this

I've used 1521's and Z26's many times on corvettes and Camaros. The Z26 pads are fantastic, never an issue (as are the 1521's).
I like both, but have Z26's on my current car. Hope that helps a little!

Can I vote twice since I have them on Z06 two drivers. The guys claiming brown rotors must just never wash the brakes. I wash mine and the super fine brown dust washes away.
The alternative stock pads put out 10 times the dust and it even ends up under the doors. Changing the pads reduces the flying dust. Nothing is 100 percent dust less.
The very little brown dust is the power stop pads dust and it washes right off. Plus it stays right there around the rotor and doesn't go all over.
The rotor does not get a permanent brown tint.
We are talking about very little dust compared. IMO!

Replaced my Brembo pads within the first 100 miles of owning my GS. My Challenger Hellcat has exactly the same front brakes, so I knew what to expect from the Brembos. So far very happy with the Z26 pads on both cars. No browning of rotors on either car. Don't track the GS and only drag race the Cat.

Wrecker...your picture is not showing.
I've got the PowerStops-love them. When I wash the car, the rotors get nasty looking. When you hit the brakes, all of that nasty stuff goes away. I'm guessing any browning might do the same.....but, I could be wrong.

I can't really select either poll option since I am mostly neutral. The Z26s stop great and make very little dust, but they brown my rotors and after a couple months after installation and bedding they started squealing on the initial cold stop, quiet after that. I have driven them like that for a year and a half and today took the fronts off to find one pad had a small chunk broken out. Never tracked the car, don't really rag on it too much. I dressed the rotors again with my sander and reinstalled and the squeal is gone... for now... so I confirmed it was the fronts. Powerstop is advertising a "new foundation" (I am thinking they mean new formulation) so maybe the latest versions are better. I put Powerstop pads and rotors on my Toyota Tacoma and they have been perfect, quiet, no browning, low dust.

Well, Adam is correct that many of us have the browning, not just the 2 members mentioned. But it doesn't bother me enough to spend $4x for brake pads. Maybe 2x. Carbotech and Adam are you listening?? And there are plenty of other choices out there like Hawk, EBC, Wagner... etc. Or maybe I'll try another set of Powerstop's latest formula.

Indeed, the OEM brake dust is like nothing I have ever seen. The Powerstop Z26 browning (bronzing, really) takes a good while but hopefully they have that solved.
