Articulated robot arms to help load heavy objects into the hatch???

Perhaps those famous Animaniacs put it best:

Doesn't even look to be designed for the car, mounting overlaps the hatch edges. Butt ugly IMO

What if it makes the car go faster ? Obviously some thought and effort went into this.... sometimes new designs are so radical that it takes a while to get used to.
like the current C7 spoilers are some kind of works of art ? they are simple wedges, some look like they can be made in a sheet metal shop and tacked onto the back of the car. And how is this worst than the big ZR1 wing ?

The fact is that this is no accident. Someone designed this, engineered this, and fabricated it to specs at a high cost. So for some reason obviously none of us here understand, someone thought this works. I'd like to know the reasoning behind that. I hope someone who has a competent education in the field of engineering takes a look at this and inspects the reasoning behind it. Anyone here want to tackle it? Or are we all just so full of hatred that curiosity has left the building?
If you have such a keen interest into why this was developed contact the OP who can inform the owner you are interested. I bet he can fix you right up with one for you to install on YOUR car. And please, don't be shy about posting pictures.

Really? At least the ZR1 wing looks like an actual spoiler and looks mean on the car. Who ever designed this may have had a bit too much meth.

As far as I am concerned, the owner can do what he wants with his corvette. I mean, he bought it with his money so if he wants put an unusual spoiler on his car I'm all for it. We tend to want every other corvette on this forum to look like ours, and that should never be the case. I like the fact that some owners are stepping out of the meta and trying new things. It's called evolution..without it nothing will change. Instead of trashing his car, you should wonder what are the motivations behind this mod as I am sure it cost a lot of money to produce.

I get it and understand its great to be different and do something others don't do. I went with a different look on my c7. But dude this wing is ugly as **** man. It doesnt go with the lines and design of the car.

Let's put it this way..if all c7 corvettes came from the factory with this spoiler, I bet most c7 owners would opt out or take it off and change it for a different aftermarket wing.

Finally, a spoiler that does what it says in the literal sense: spoil the car.

I have it on good authority that that is a GM spoiler that will be on all of the C8s.

Not a physics major here, but hard to imagine that even if there was any aerodynamic advantage over a conventional spoiler add-on, that it would be measurable enough to justify that look. Certain spoilers like the one on the ZR1 are not for everyone, but understood. This one....well...it's kinda hard to appreciate because of how much it takes away from the look of the car. I'm always open minded about what people do to "THEIR" cars, but some things are just fair game to criticism.
