Default Stage 3 winglets install

Ok here it goes, hold off on the flamethrowers, 'cause this is a serious frigging question .

Have a 2018 GS with the stock Stage 2/3 splitter and I recently bought a set of Stage 3 GM ABS plastic winglets.

Bought the extra long screws (6) for the winglet/spat attachment.

Problem I have is that in all the install pics I've seen the winglets attach with the three bolts on top/behind the spats.
With mine I cannot do that, the only way they will install is by sticking the winglet "flap" between the spat and the fender liner!!

I'm pretty good with wrenches but this has me stumped

Any help very much appreciated ....thanks!

They install on the outside of the spats. Just remove the 3 screws (each side), place the winglets on the outer edge and install the longer screws.

Edit: here are close-up pics of mine:

That's what I thought, I'm starting to think I've got the wrong parts, this cannot be this difficult!

Also the bolt openings on the winglets are like three big square cutouts on each, if I run it on top of the spat the screw will go right thru them unless I use a huge washer

I just used the OEM screws that I removed and they worked fine (didn’t need the longer screws). Mine didn’t have large square cut-outs. I agree, it doesn’t seem like you have the correct parts...

Yes they go on top off the spats.

You will have to use longer screws and washers.

I just installed a set on my ride yesterday also added the side skirts and the project took about 3 hours from jack up to wheels down
Parts were ordered from ACS and the kit was good with no issues
No that 50 degree weather has arrived were off and running

I agree 110% with you Bruno, that's what it is!!! That's why they seem too short to clear the spat bottom and line up, unless, of course, I run the winglet flap on top of the fender instead of on top of the spat! Dang!!
I bought them from a forum member, he had them advertised simply as Stage 3 winglets, I got carried away and didn't ask for details, just assumed and paid. You know what happens whenever you assume right?!?!

Anyway seller is in Canada so I guess I'll put them up for sale and try to recoup what I paid ($130 shipped).

Big, big thank you to all!! Appreciate your time and help!!

In my opinion he should have specified unless you just overlooked that detail. If he didn't specify, he sold you items not matching his description which is messed up.

FWIW I did not have large square openings BUT did use various size washers and longer screw/snaps so the snaps were accessible for my NoviStretch Bra. See the PDF in my post 14.

Those definitely look to be wrong. I bought a set from a forum vendor, they took about 10-15mins to install total.
