The first time I saw this color on the lot, it was on a Carbon Edition Grand Sport, and I really liked it.
Today while at the dealership. I ran into it again on a Z06 2LT manual. Pretty much the package I’ve been looking for, but the color didn’t really pop like it did the first time I saw it on the Carbon Edition. Maybe it was just all the extra graphics that made it stand out so well.
So I was just looking for a general consensus on the color matrix gray.

I saw one recently at a dealer here in Texas. My first response was "I don't like it." I looked at it a few minutes and thought: my next Corvette should be that color. I think it great.
It's a period color. A color that is dated as it ages. I'm fairly certain it won't be a legacy paint color of Corvette. It's a color I enjoy seeing - on someone else's C7, not mine.
This color looks awesome. How about slapping on some vinyl laguna blue hash marks on it similar to the CE and painting the calipers to match to make for a great looking accent. This color rocks. You asked for opinions, well you got mine.

I dont ever see the "blue" in it like someone mentioned in this thread. To me it makes the AW look incredibly dated in comparison. My 18' Z06 in CMG is my (5)th C7 and by far I get the most comments about the color on this one than any color previously.
But then again we're talking color preference which is totally subjective. I would say if you're on the fence about it then it's a pass.

I personally like it because it adds a bit of character compared to white. It’s the same reason why I like Sterling Blue Metallic. It’s a bit more elegant but I can see how it might not be universally liked. Buy what you like! A have a friend who thinks my adrenaline red interior is hideous but I think it’s bees knees.

I never formulate an opinion on color and packages until I see them in person. With that said, I saw two Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallics at a local show and then again at a local dealership and walked away unimpressed. To me it looks like primer.
Color is subjective so go with what you like and not what internet strangers (like me) comment. That's why I like Corvette shows. It gives you a no-sales-pressure opportunity to check out all the colors, packages, etc. as to what you like best. Believe me, when you see it, you will know it!
I try to assess every new color with an open mind. I haven't seen SO other than photos and the sample at Carlisle however expect when I do I will like it, just don't know how much.
As far as Matrix Gray, I've seen it about a 1/2 dozen times under multiple lighting conditions and just don't care for it. It's not quite white, not quite silver, not quite gray, not quite blue, it's almost seems colorless if that makes any sense.

Mines CMG and I like it a lot. My last Vette was admiral Blue and I liked that too. My 14 was black and I’ll never get black again.....but again, that’s just me and to each his own
CMG looks the best with black accents, wheels, stripes, etc...

Hey dude, you got great tastes. I like all the colors you cited (except black). All that really matters as far as the OP is concerned is whether or not he/she likes the color. End of discussion. I personally do not like red, black, white, and yellow even as popular as they are but like all the other C7 colors. But that's just my opinion as I march to the beat of a different drummer. Ya gotta go with what floats your own boat.
