. . . and "Dexos-approved" for warranty purposes. GM wants certain additives and characteristics in the oil that Dexos certification ensures. Using the approved weight only does not meet GM's requirement. There are plenty of other Dexos-approved oils besides Mobil 1.
The SuperTECH is dexos approved, shows on the pics above. Even if packaged by Mobil - why pay 59% more!
AFAIK, the Dexos version of it is not on the shelves in auto parts stores YET.
Umm.. the pic was the generic one just for a visual reference. But, I fixed it so you can sleep better at night. Do you think they are going to sell 0W40 ESP Mobil 1 without the Dexos2 indicated considering they developed it specifically for GM with the Corvette in mind? Of course not. And it is for sale at dealerships. So one could simply drive to his/her dealership and buy as much as they need for their oil change.

Auto parts stores ARE selling a non Dexos version of it, so people need to beware.

The only reason the high mileage version isn't dexos approved is due to emissions. Dexos specifies a certain level of zinc. The high mileage version used to have more zinc that regular M1. That said, I doubt there are many C7 that need high mileage oil yet.
how did it work out running 0w20 in your c7? How long did you run it, still using it?
I couldn’t find 0w40 and put 0w20
since my Escalade uses it. I didn’t think would be a big deal but the mobile one guys said wouldn’t recommend using 0w20 and said go 5w30 for street use only if can’t find 0w40.
It's impossible to prove a negative, but I've been using Mobil 1 for decades in a half dozen cars without a problem, making me a satisfied user from the jump.
Since GM recommends Mobil 1 and it's never been an issue, the additional $0.003 per mile is cheap insurance for a $70k investment. While I resist wasting money IMO engine oil is something I don't want to be cheap about.
