Anyone that had the painted vents that has had a bad experience (peeling, mismatch shade, etc...)? I'm considering for a blade silver stingray, but a little leary of the durability.
Also, anyone with pics of a blade silver with color matched vents? I've searched the silver thread but couldn't find any.
I can guaranty ya, if my C7 were anything but black ALL the vents would be painted body color. There are paints/preps designed to do so if the painter will take the trouble. All the best!
I had a painter that work in his back yard paint my vents. He scuffed them first, then cleaned with denatured alcohol . I told him to use bulldog -------( adhesion promoter ). We then primed then painted. We had a little lifting in some areas and had to re scuff and repaint. Had to hang the wicker bills from a clothes line and bent hangers To dry. So far all is great. This was just an idea I thought of but it came out better than I imagined. Color is blade silver.
I am back and forth between Stingray and GS. (going to upgrade from my 50th AE) If a GS, will not have them painted.
Either way, will be ordered, so if I do end up with them painted, it will be done in the factory, so would hope they get the application, but one never knows, hence my post.

I want to have my C7 vents painted, but like you I have a black one. Wonder what color would look good on black Vette? what do you think.

Thanks to all that posted. In the end I went with a GS in Blade Silver, black interior, chrome wheels, and did not have the vents painted. Dealer says should arrive in about 8 weeks. Thanks again!
