Default Stealth mode?

Just curious if there is a way to keep the npp quite even at WOT, if so how?

Put the exhaust in stealth mode and use some safety wire to wire the valves shut while the engine is idling.

IIRC, our 2017 Z51 says not to run at the track in Stealth mode. If that's correct, I think one would want to avoid WOT in Stealth.

Nope - can put in Touring mode that will keep the butterflies closed until about 2500 rpm. In Track they will open at ~1700 rpm. I have mine set for "Always Track" regardless of drive mode. Unless you drive in Sport or Track you have it as quite as it can be. So when you need it quite, keep the rpm's low!

Not sure why you would want them closed at WOT as lots of other noise like the intake air flow and engine! But there is always the trick we used to get past state inspection "in the day" when we had glass packs and the bureaucrats running the inspections stations would not pass the car! We would stuff steel wool in the exhaust pipe and drill a hole in the pipe and put in a nail to keep it from coming out when the accelerator was pressed! Then when we got it passed, pull the nail and blow out the steel wool! Could do the same! The butterflies are operated by electric stepping motors and have feedback so disconnecting or blocking the movement would trip a CEL. Guess you could disconnect the mechanical linkage and let the motors turn nothing!

No simple way to do this certainly can not be done with any of the provided exhaust settings.

It is not safe to got WOT with the valves closed. My 2017 Camaro SS A8 would keep them closed if I went into the dash controls and set the exhaust to stealth, but the owners manual strongly suggested against it.

I have not found a way to do the same on my 2015 C7 Z51.

wouldn't the simple way is to put it in stealth mode, then crawl under the back and disconnect the butterfly electric connection?

I still don't understand why you would do it, but i don't see how this wouldn't work. Unless the default with no power to the butterfly is open.

^^
The valves use stepping motors and have feedback to check to see if they are operating properly. It's my understanding that disconnecting the plug will trip a CEL.
