Took the car out of the garage this morning and noticed that the leather had pulled away from the center vent near the windshield. Looks like that center vent may need to be replaced as it looks warped and perhaps caused the issue. The car has a 12/12 CPO BB warranty on it, so I'm assuming this would be covered as I just picked it up a few months ago. only has 11k miles on it. I have reached out to a few local dealers, but was interested in the communities take on this.
Should be covered by warranty correct?
Does this seem like a quick fix with re-installation of the center vent?
Good news is that it should be covered under warranty, bad news is that looks like the dash pad is most likely going to need to be replaced which is quite an undertaking.
Search forum under 3LT dash pad issues as 3LT leather dash pad shrinkage has been reported quite a bit.

^^^ This... Quite a few reports on this related issue. It should be covered, and its replacement is pretty involved. The dash is pre-assembled in layers. Unfortunately it has to be disassembled for replacement.
If it takes them a week to replace and it's covered under warranty, I'll be ok. I can live without the car for a week. Very disappointing to have this happen when I just bought the car a few months ago :-/
The local dealership that I called said the parts were not covered under CPO bumper to bumper warranty. They were going to reach out to GM, but I never heard back from them, but I called the dealer that sold me the car. They are out of state so it’s not like I can just drive over to them easily. They worked with GM to get to 50% cost covered. I have pushed back on GM/the dealership to do better given that nothing in the booklet I received about CPO or the GM CPO website states anything about these parts not being covered. They clearly list what is not covered on GM's site. http://www.gmcertified.com/certified...d-car-warranty
Given that someone from the dealership owned the car, I'm sure they knew about the dash issue. I would think that part of the CPO process would have ensured this part wasn't failing when they certified it. The salesperson who sold me the car told me in an email that this would be covered, then they came back to say it would only be half covered. At the end of the day, it's a GM issue, but the dealership has some responsibility for selling me on the "no worries" warranty and also telling me it would be covered. GM and the dealership need to figure it out.
In the meantime, I am going to stop by a local shop and see if there is any repair that could be done without pulling the dash. I’d be interested in hearing from others who have either had theirs repaired or success/horror stories post dash replacement.
I'm sure I've read here where some owners have had these issues fully covered. Besides, it's a know issue prone to 3LT interiors so don't see how they can not cover it. You would thing for the extra $5000+they charge for the leather over and above the 2LT they would at least give you a warranty.
Honestly, I don't know why anyone would want a 3LT especially at the cost and issues.

Call GM directly - if this is not listed as 'not covered' then obviously it should be covered. Of course GM and the dealership know most people won't go through a legal fight to get justice, but hopefully if you push hard enough they'll do the right thing and fix the defect.
On my 2011 I once had it parked in a parking lot for a few hours in the hot sun. When I got in I noticed the center plastic vent on top was warped by the heat in the car. It was OK when I pulled in the lot and warped when I got back in. The center vent in the C7 may have the same type of issue. Anyway since then I always crack the windows if I park somewhere hot for a long period of time.
where are you in western ny and what dealer are you talking too?
In Rochester, but purchased the car from Delaware. As far as dealers go, it's one of the popular ones in this area. I didn't take the car in, but had sent them then pics and talked with them on the phone. I offered to bring it in, but they said it wasn't necessary and they would reach out to GM.

Yeah I've heard that cracking the windows and getting a sunscreen is a good move. I do have other bubbling though so it's not just the vent

Don't assume the dealership is giving you the straight up answer from GM - contact GM directly and see what they say. That should be fully covered under your warranty.

Yes sir! If they don't call tomorrow I will be calling them. Thanks

I’m the corvette tech for a dealership in buffalo area. I will check in the morning to see if this is covered. I know they just changed some of the certified pre owned warranty things. I’ve changed a couple of these dashes but they were all still under the bumper to bumper warranty.
