TPMS Nut Size?

TPMS Nut Size?
Our 2017 Z51 has two sets of GM wheels (1 set factory & 1 set bought used without sensors) and two sets of GM TPMS sensors (1 set came with car, 1 set bought from dealer). The factory wheels have the PSS tires and the used ones have AS3+ installed by Discount Tires.
Both sets have been rebalanced by Discount Tires.
Today I discovered that one set of TPMS nuts use a 12mm deep socket, and the other set uses a 11MM deep socket. A third set from a 2014 C7 also takes the 12mm.
The nuts are slightly different in the barrel but appear interchangeable.
I'm guessing that Discount Tires switched in their own nuts when they installed my new sensors, perhaps because they have a socket/torque wrench combo that fits a "universal" TPMS.
What size socket do the factory TPMS nuts actually use?
Any other ideas how this mis-match came about, possible problems, etc?
