Default 2 different build dates?

Sticker on the driver's door is 12/15, but the GM Build Sheet says 1/6/16...

Was car actually "built" in 12/15 but cleared final QC on 1/6/16?
Not sure if thats how they do it or what..

Curious why it matters - the door says 12/15 my guess is that it sat around over the Christmas/New Years holiday until they came back to work. The entire plant likely shuts down for 2 weeks.

Just want to know why the discrepancy..
Thats all.. Doesn't affect anything.. Just curious..
And if the above was the case, wouldn't the door sticker show 1/16?

Interesting, no build date on the build sheet I found in my 2017 car.

Our Built sheets included a pink sheet with MY2017 Batch 71 Date 10-17-2016. I guess it all depends "who" left what info in the car as they left the plant.

Here's an example (mine) of the type of build sheet you really need to determine your build date. For example, the red arrow points to my build date. Your dealer should be able to get a copy of this for you. There was one person on the Forum that would do this for anyone that asked, but I don't know if he's still a follower. Good luck.

I have that.. This is why I posted..
Door sticker shows 12/15
Build sheet from GM says 1/6/16....
I'm not sure, but I think the date on the build sheet may be the day the car cleared Final Quality Control..?

Sorry; I should have read closer.

Since the date on the Build Sheet matches what is on the Certificate of Origin (sample of mine here which has the date matching my build sheet), and is the official document associated with the vehicle, I'd say that is actually the day it was built. That door sticker was probably printed up in December 2015, and is "non-specific" (i..e., just month and year) anyway. I suspect it just happened to be printed in the month prior to final assembly to get ready for plant starting up again after the holiday break that first week in January, whatever actual day that might have been. I don't think QC delays play into any of this because the amount of time a car could spend there could vary drastically.

Not sure if thats how they do it or what..
Your car just may have started down the assembly line on Thursday December 31 and then sat idol until assembly line restarted Jan 4 or 5 and came off the line Jan 6. That seems Very feasible.
