Just wondering if you like the emblem and which way did you decide to install? I am considering buying one also.
Thanks

I installed mine about a year ago with the expoy and have had no issues. It looks great and has held up very well.

If you intend to clean the liner first, DO NOT take a hose to it. I did, bad decision. The liner is just cardboard with a flimsy felt covering. I spent more time gluing sections back together than applying the C7 emblem. I wish I had thought about spraying it with flat black like was mentioned above.

Hey Guys.

Sorry I've been traveling internationally for work...so I just got to install the hood liner emblem today... Here are the steps I took:

1) Mix the provided epoxy together, I suggest in a shiny paper plate or bowl so no paper rips off into the glue
2) Dab a nice sized circle of epoxy (just slightly bigger than a quarter) at the tip of each wing, the center of each wing and the lower point of the emblem.
3) IMPORTANT - do not dab the epoxy near any edge of the emblem, so when pressing down, it will not squeeze out from behind the emblem onto the liner
4) Press the emblem with a good amount of pressure, but not too much - you dont want to crush the liner - its very fragile and you dont want to bend it or it will show a crease
5) You want to keep pressure on the emblem, evenly, so I filled up some flower vases with water, and place them on the emblem, and kept them on there for about an hour (instructions say 15 min)
6) After the hour, I then inserted the screws and tightened the bolts (see picture below)

Below are pictures of what everything looks like when apart - detailed description will be above each picture...see below:

Screws and bolts that hold the emblem to the liner:

Emblem installed on liner:

Removal of the hood intake housing:

Full view of liner removed and intake housing removed:

IMPORTANT: When re-installing the liner, DO THIS FIRST - dont forget to slide the bottom tips of the liner in the lower slots in the hood:

I used nickle plated fasteners to add a little more pop to the overall look - part number below - purchased from West Coast Corvette:

Do you think it would hold up to a vacuum cleaner with brush head?

If I were you, I wouldn't use a brush / hose. A replacement liner is about $60...or you can spray it with Simple Green and agitate it a little - that worked for my C5 hood liner...just dont soak it or it will get ruined. I've also heard good things about those who have sprayed painted them with black spray paint...just do a light coating to get the black back...

I don’t see why a vacuum wouldn’t work as long as you aren’t rough. BTW, you can get the liner for $60, but the postage is cost prohibitive. From a local dealer the liner is $99.

Cause 95% of the stains you see on a liner are not removable with a vacuum, they are usually water stains, that's why people either replace them, or paint them...but you're right, I forgot about the shipping cost of the liner cause of its size...a dealership would be a better choice. I got lucky and paid $30 for a guy selling a brand new liner on LetGo.

Do you recommend installing with the epoxy and the bolts? I have seen where it looks like people had luck with just epoxy but I think i would always wonder if it will always hold?

I had water stains on my mine from the prior owner. I sprayed mine with black paint to cover the stains. When you paint it use very light coats of paint and wait until it dries before giving it another coat of paint. Mine took about five coats to cover the stains. The added benefit of painting it, is that it makes it more durable and easier to wipe it clean.

I used Epoxy and bolts. The bolds are very small and look like chrome or stainless steel. An ounce of prevention will prevent a pound of pain if it fell off.

100% - Install using BOTH! The bolts are small with a very small washer (see my close-up picture above). Any tear in your liner and that emblem could end up in your engine compartment...god forbid.

A few guys have been asking me to post pictures of where the epoxy dabs should go...please see the picture below - I've indicated in RED dots (obviously on the other side) where the epoxy should go - remember not too much to avoid squeezing out the sides and making a mess:

Thanks to the owners who took one for the CF team and installed them. Had it in my wish list at Amazon, but was unsure how effective the installation would be.
