Default Console lid

My 17 vert is starting to show a small depression where I rest my elbow.
What would be a good cover for the lid?

A warranty replacement while it is still in warranty. known issue, new ones have more substantive foam.

I am on my 2nd replacement console lid (17 GS) in 15 months, so far they have all been crap. I suspect I will be on the third by the end of the year

I went through 2 warranty replacements until I got the "newer Version" console lid. No further issues.

I just bought this cover for it and it looks and works great!
Amazon Amazon
I got wrinkles in the console lid and the left armrest on the door when I started using sunscreen in the elbow area of my arm a few weeks ago. I did a test with the sunscreen lotion on an old out of commission armrest I had from another car made out of the same leather type material in the Vette and it wrinkled also. So I proved it was the sunscreen as suspected. Not that fussy myself, so I just bought the cover.

Jim, I think Joe's got the better idea. The aftermarket lid I bought from a vendor here has even developed some wrinkles over the last 1 1/2 years of use, and I don't use sunscreen.

Hmm, have not had a problem since I got my September 2013 built C7 Z51, nor my Grand Sport I have had for a year!

Oh yea, I keep my hands on the steering wheel 95+% of the time! The other ~5% is spent shifting!

After 3 or 4 warranty replacements, this most recent revision seems to be holding up well.

Just don't use sunscreen on the area of your arms or elbows that come in contact with the car.
I had my car for 2.5 years and had a perfect lid. Shame on that sunscreen!

I like that. Although I haven’t had any wrinkle problems on my arm rest, I think I’ll get one. I assume it just has a stretch elastic border to hold it in place? Would there be enough “give” under it to place a small foam pad on top of the console? Maybe about the width of a computer mouse pad?

I just use a black folded face towel... provides padding and absorbs moisture when I wear short sleeves....
Enough padding I can lean on it getting out of the car with no affect on the console lid.

Yes. Stretch elastic border to hold it in place. Fits like OJ Simpsons glove. Very good.

If the foam pad isn't too thick, I think you are good. The fabric will stretch a little come to think of it. Yeah, I would say you are good. I was even considering it before my lid went to hell.
Priced without a Corvette tax.

Amazing what lengths we go to not to rest our arms on an arm rest.

Glad to know fixed the original problem with denser memory foam.
