I’ve had a few C7’s and today was the first time I’ve seen this message. Theft Attempted. What can this mean aside from the obvious? I’ve watched all the video footage from my security cameras and no intruders in the driveway.
I've had that happen twice:
1) EZPass suction cups gave way and it fell off of the windshield
2) another car went by with a loud exhaust and set off the alarm
I work on Nellis Air Force Base, and the variety of fighter aircraft that scream by overhead sets mine off all the time...
Spent some time at a supercar driving event @ LVMS while I was out there a couple months back, and was lucky enough to see a ton of Nellis traffic taking off over the speedway while I was there. Talk about eye candy for the aviation geek! (I grew up in airports with my Dad retired from the airlines, and I work in airport design now.)
Between watching the fighter jets and driving the dream cars, I never wanted to leave.
Mine went off once when my sun shade shifted, tripping the interior motion sensor.
Since then, I'll usually disable the interior motion sensor if I have the shade up.
Same thing happened to me, it seems that the visors are smaller in the C7 vs. my previous C6, the sun shade slipped and set off the alarm. An easy fix is to add thin cardboard squares to the top of the sun shade that fit underneath the visors keeping them secure and not visible from the outside of my C7.

I'm at Eglin AFB and the same thing happens when the jets depart in afterburner. The windshield shade would set it off. I am now in the habit of turning the motion sensor off while at work.

I take a ferry occasionally with my DD - Cadillac XT5 and occasionally when getting back in the car when departing I get the Theft Attempted warning from the roll of the ship.
With the decades-long history of vehicle alarms being triggered, usually for reasons other than "theft attempted," and almost everyone programmed to completely ignore them, I wonder what genius decided to utilize that term. What's wrong with "alarm activated?"
