For that seat pinning feeling...I swear my evo pulls at least 1g @ launch all the way through 2nd gear. feels way faster than the vette...1st thru 2nd are violent. like someone sitting on your chest. however when I race my wife in the SR Z51... bone stock she will have a bus length on me by 3rd gear shift. Feeling faster and actually going faster are 2 different things.

if you turn off everything and go into competition mode, the M7 won't limit power/use TC on the 1,2 2,3 shift and so on. it feels way faster especially with sticky tires/slicks. you will get the feeling you are looking for....or if your tires/yourself suck you will loose traction and..........why is my car so slow

if you want that brutal acceleration feeling on the street without having to mount slicks, buy a GTR. AWD, and a boatload of tourqe. For that seat pinning feeling. almost nothing will beat the "feeling" of an AWD launch....specifically on the street and not at a drag strip.

You could put a supercharger (adds 80lbs) in a Z51 (to increase from 465 to 600hp) and get more acceleration feel than a Z06 because of the narrower bodywork and 300lbs lighter and without the aero downforce slowing you down as in the Grand Sport and Z06. See this video:

Or put this supercharger 840hp into a Corvette Z51 Stingray:

Or install a Callaway supercharger (750hp) in a C7 Corvette Z51 Stingray and GM still honors your warranty:

Now, this car was no slouch for sure but acceleration was somewhat aggressive at most. I was not thrown back in the seat and pressed into the seat as I winded through the gears. Is this normal? Now, I had a 130LB passenger and most of my hard acceleration experience has been with no passengers, but how much can 130LBs matter in terms of the viceral feeling under hard acceleration?

Remember I speaking strictly butt dyno which matters a lot to me. In my mind I was also thinking 500HP. I just got too excited perhaps.

I was thinking the second I smashed the throttle I'd be amazed.

Yea my first thought was "a Viper". What he wants is a Viper.
Pretty much any GenIV or GenV Viper.

HUGE WARNING - DO NOT "Floor-it / smash the throttle" during the test drive. You'll definitely crash.
Too many bad crash stories with potential buyers during the test drive.. with the owner in the passenger seat.
Injuries have occurred and buyers have fled the scene, leaving a wounded owner stuck in the passenger side of the car.
Definitely not an "unheard of" scenario.

NEVER SMASH THE THROTTLE TEST DRIVING A VIPER. It's not necessary.
The butt dyno alarms will start going off at half throttle.
I find that (on the street) simply pushing the throttle in nice and even 'till red-line is more than exhilarating and still leaves everyone in my rear-view.

Oh it's ON!
Have to say my lunch money is on ImpliedConsent... mostly because of my first hand experience with ZL1's at the track and on the street.

On the track (Willow Springs) saw a brand new ZL1 completely miss a turn, go off-track and hit a bale-of-hay. All air bags deployed and then the hay under the car caught fire!
Almost instantly, the entire car was engulfed in flames. So word of caution to devnull.

On the street, I've encountered three ZL1's and none of 'em wanted to demonstrate their might against my Viper. They just didn't wanna to play.
One of 'em was fully cam'd and after market exhaust and the whole nine yards.. So dunno.

Good on you guys! Take it to the Track and then go have lunch.

Agree completely. I know I can't do it. Takes me at least a month or more before I can come to any definite conclusions.

If you can adjust to that, buy something like a Vitesse to adjust the throttle sensitivity and that should change your opinion.
Maybe a Sprint Booster would help.................................

I once owned a 2012 EVO MR (didn't have the ridiculous wing) but traded it in a few months later because I didn't feel the acceleration was enough. But I know many people mod the EVO's and they can put up some serious HP numbers (and you'll hear just as many blowing engines).

+100% to the GT-R! I've owned two ('09 and '14) and when I got behind the wheel, I felt I owned the road ahead of me to all but the fastest sport bikes and hypercars.
