Default C7 Stereo Help

Hi guys, I have a 16 Stingray that i bought from an auction. My rear camera works as well as both forward facing cameras. I can not turn the audio system on though. to my knowledge the HMI module has been replaced and a new motorized screen installed. The Bose amp in the rear next to the fuse box is original though. I know some of you have upgraded your audio systems and i was just wondering if there were any other possibly hidden components that i may be missing.

The replaced HMI module must be VIN matched by a GM tech in order to work with the existing equipment.

Local Chevy dealer says it is programmed. They had the car to where it wouldn't even start at one point. I even looked at another new HMI from Infotainment.com. They offer preprogrammed HMI modules, although the dealer says its not possible. Their HMI is close to $900, big gamble if it doesnt work.

Check the following fuse in the engine compartment.
24 - Radio --> 2017 model not sure what 2016 model would be..may be the same number

Check the following fuse in the hatch compartment.
21 - Amplifier

Does your screen go up and down?
Can you see anything on the infotainment screen to configure your vehicle settings?

thanks, I’ll check that in the morning.
Yes, the screen goes up and down. Like I said the cameras all seem to work. 1- rear camera in reverse, 2- forward facing cameras in Neutral or when shifted into gear. Other than that screen is just black. I went through the driver info center on gauge cluster and is says “Audio Off”
power button on dash does nothing.

Onstar may be the issue with the "Audio Off" issue.
Try pressing an Onstar button on the rearview mirror.

As for screen being blank, you may need a dealer to do a software update to see if that fixes the problem.

If the problem was software or security, the screen would at least turn on and say "Theft locked" or "Calibrate".
