Dealer tells me the door panel is in, but not the lid yet.
will ask him if it happens again if they will replace it. i think they should, and not just one time under a good will gesture. It is crap material. the car and parts are made to be used, is not made of silk and glass and fragile.

Yeah. Like I originally posted it was fine for two and a half years until I used the sunscreen on my elbow and underarm. I just bought one of these for the console.

Pretty sad you can't rest your arm on an "arm rest". I read that GM corrected the issue with denser memory foam, however if it happens to me (pending 2019 Z06), I'm just going to have a local auto upholsterer fix it with better foam.

I was looking at one of those yesterday. Would you mind posting some pics of it in your car when you get it?

There is an "Ask Tadge" post on this discussing the trade-offs involved in choosing the console materials and explaining how the part has been changed to reduce the problem, by the way.

Mine has what I refer to as the "poor mans" 2 tone interior, as I ordered light gray with the 1LT package, so it gives it a black/gray two tone look as well but nowhere near as nice as yours!

Excellent look. If I had ordered rather than buying my 1LT off the lot I would have gone with this.
