One year ago on May 31st I purchased a base stingray with A8. I changed the oil/oil filter at approximately 1500 miles with Mobil One and Mobil 1 Filter. On July 2nd of this year I took it in for the first Dealer oil/oil filter service under the 2yr. 24 mo service. I also had three other things I wanted checked. 1. belt or idler pulley squeaking in engine compartment, 2. Warble sound coming from rt. rear, & 3. rattle noise around the heat shield around exhaust. I left the car all day and they called me at quitting time and said they are not up to date on Corvettes so I probably should take it in to another dealer. When I arrived home I took the time to read the repair order. They put regular Dexos oil in and I specifically said I wanted Mobil 1. and to top that of I had 36 PSI R/R, 37 L/R, 38 R/F, 39 L/F. I had 34 even on all tires when I took it in. All the item that I mentioned just had could to get to simulate customer noises. I called them and asked why they didn't put Mobil One in my car and their reply was because it is not required. I told them about the service bulletins and they said bring it back and they would swap it out. I marked the oil filter and it wasn't touched and they put on new repair order that they put 8 Qts Mobil One. That really got my goat! What would you do? Thank You in advance for advising me.
I would move on and find another dealer to service my vehicle. Life is too short to be upset about them putting Dexos in your C7. It wouldn't do any harm to your car, especially for the short amount of mileage it was in there. Let it go, find another place to have your Corvette worked on and focus on the enjoyment of driving your C7.

Thank You George. That probably is the right thing today.
wow! a corvette is a chevrolet. if you can work on a chevrolet you can work on a corvette. the term corvette specialist just cracks me up i would not have that dealership work on any vehicle i owned.
Sadly, that's true. I turned in my 16 for some body panel adjustments. Chevy service treats Corvette owners just like any other Chevy owner. Nevermind that we Corvette buyers pay mega-bucks for these 2-seaters...for fun! Now, had I purchased a Cadillac CTS-V? Cadillac treats their customers beautifully. IMO, Corvette needs to separate from Chevrolet.
So, my dealer rental: A 2018 Chevy Cruze 4-door, with "Coutesy Vehicle" plastered all over it. Laugh My ******* *** Off. I don't know who they cater this POS to, but I wouldn't even give it away. He said it was a "turbo". The Cruze gives turbo a bad name.
One, I wouldn't go there anymore, no way I would trust them with my vette.
Two, you will get a survey from GM, give them the lowest possible score and in the description tell GM what they did, specifically the part where they claimed to change your oil again but didn't.
Three, call GM customer service and file a complaint against the dealership.
Stuff happens. You will most likely get nowhere arguing with the dealer. And, Dexos will not damage your engine. Move on to a place that knows how to service Vettes.

Why would they replace a new oil filter? They gave you Mobil 1?
Have you ever known anyone who had an oil related problem with a car or bike? EVER?
Me either. Any oil is OK if you are only driving the car. I am guessing you are never going to race it, so I am sure you will be OK.
If you are disappointed, go to another dealership... Or, start changing your own oil.

Recommend Grey Chevrolet in Port Orchard. They only use Mobil 1 in all the C7s and new Camaros. Also sponsor our Corvette Club. Always had nothing but the best current service on my 2014 and now my 2017. Small dealership, big customer service.
I'm not sure everyone gets a GM survey every time they go in for service. You might, but you also might not. Most here have recommended to move on, ---on, that is, to a dealer that really knows what they're doing---and DOES it. You have a recommendation for another dealer that does the right things AND sponsors a Corvette club. Sounds to me like a dealer that could easily be "rewarded" with your future business because they deserve it!!! However, if you feel still pretty badly about the dealer taking an entire day to do nothing, I'd write to the prez or Mary and tell 'em. May not help, but it's your opinion and we're still allowed to voice it, for now....
