Don't need it... if I'd wanted a different model with "more power/different features," etc. I'd simply have bought it to begin with.

My "off thread" contribution...

You want cheap street to give ya a thrill, do like my wife did for her B'ville racer (which she drove for a year on the street first). Put a supercharged V8 in a first series Mazda Miata.

Certainly better power-to-weight ratio and produced for less money than what seems to have been suggested by the OP.

Now you're just being an idiot. It's a waste of time talking to you, as you seem to enjoy being an *******. Goodbye.

If I tried the same with a Z06, I'm sure it would result in massive wheel spin and I'd have to feather the gas and I wouldn't feel that same push back in my seat at all as a result. On the track, or with super sticky tires, the Z would destroy my base model. Line the two of us up on the street and I bet 9 times out of 10 I can beat it to the next stoplight with ease.
Exactly! That's one of the reasons why I traded my 662 hp 2014 Shelby GT500 for a base 2014 Singray. The Shelby had plenty of bragging rights but I really couldn't enjoy it on the street. But two years later I traded for a 16 Z51. Now I am satisfied. I did briefly consider a ZO6 but then remembered why I traded the Shelby in the first place so I went for the Z51.
