taking it to the dealer LOL for tires and rim. That will be $3,850.00 please. sorry about the accident but that's the LAST place on planet earth I would go.
I have a very good, 12 year, relationship with my dealer's service department. I wouldn't touch their sales department with a ten foot pole though. I have a rare day off from our house moving on Thursday so I think I'll take it to Discount Ttire to see what they say. The OEM wheel from House oil Wheels is $425. Hopefully I won't have to replace both tire and wheel.
So I finally had enough time to take it in to Discount Tire (who had 2 tires in stock) and, after over an hour, it took 4 people to finally mount the left front tire. They did it without leaving a scratch....truly amazing....I had to give them a $20 tip. They checked all my tires and topped off the pressure and $442 later I was back on the road. I proceeded to my favorite (belt driven) car wash and while I was checking in the attendant said to me..."there's something wrong with your left rear tire"....I looked at the left rear tire and low and behold, the same bubble on the sidewall as the front left tire. I guess I clipped the grapefruit sized speed bumps with both tires. So now it's back to Discount Tire for the rear replacement.....another $547.....lesson learned....watch out for those ridiculous speed bumps.....PS...the bubble was caused by a small tear on the inside of the sidewall. When filled with air the tear filled up and produced the bubble....
Don't know about the wheel, but it looks like you damaged the tire structure. That sidewall isn't right.
I was going to say the same thing here. Looks like the tire you broke the steel wires in the side wall that is what is making it look like that.. Robert
I agree. Looks like the belts in the tire were broken!
As I stated in my earlier post....the bubble was caused by a small tear on the inside of the sidewall. When filled with air the tear filled up and produced the bubble....
I priced a new wheel from House of Wheels.....$425....but luckily I don't need one. It was only the tire....er...tires now...rear one has a bubble as well....
I hope you went to the Discount Tire that is a couple of doors away from the In & Out in Gilbert. At least you could have a good lunch. My how I miss AZ and the Gilbert/Chandler area.

I had to take it to the Queen Creek store on Ellsworth Loop. It was the only store that had the tire in stock. Now, with that said, the Gilbert store on Market St near the San Tan Mall is the only store that has the rear in stock so I'll going there next week, after we move into our new house (yes Gilbert) on Saturday.
By the way, these are the speed bumps I clipped turning out of my community....
Thanks for the heads up and pic. Good man.
I too just went through a fiasco with getting a nail in the rear passenger on my new Grand Sport, 2k miles. First place tore the bead removing it and bought me a new tire. I took it somewhere else to have it mounted and balanced. All is well now.

Still haven't had time to get the new rear tire. I've been a little busy moving in.....arghhhh....
Ordered rear tire from Discount Tire $550 installed. Appointment made for Wednesday. I'll try to take some pics of the installation since I know it's going to be a difficult one. I've been doing business with this store for years and they always treat my Corvettes with care. Keeping my fingers crossed. My local dealer wanted more than $600 for the tire and installation.

Do they have the touchless tire machine? That's 98% of the solution. The other 2% is getting the guy that knows how to use it. I'd request someone that has actually done a few 335's just like the one you're buying. My local dealer wanted $642 total installed with tax. Luckily my local DT ripped the bead so I got one free. I didn't have them mount it though. Took it to a specialty tire and wheel place. They charged me $40 to mount and balance. Did a good job. They had a new Corghi touchless tire machine and a new Corghi balance machine.
