Talk about a crappy day. Flying debris from truck cracked my windshield. My insurance suggested SAFELIGHT Autoglass. They made an appointment for me for next Monday to take my baby (WICKED is her name) in. Maybe I should be taking WICKED somewhere else?

Reason: added name
Safelite just put one in on my 2015. Make sure to ask for oem glass or you will get aftermarket. My insurance picked up the full cost including the oem glass. The tech at the jacksonville branch has done a bunch (I asked beforehand) and he seemed to zip right through the install while I watched.

As black creek has said, insist on "OEM"! Also, if you have HUD make sure the new glass is made for that as well. Have them come to your house. fun to watch them do it!
Safelite did the windshield on my 2015 last summer after a rock left two nice quarter size marks in it. Brought to car to their place because it was quicker. Insisted on OEM glass. The replacement windshield has been in over a year now without issue.
You might want to call the office to check and see if they have ever done a C7 windshield. My 14 windshield cracked and called them to inquire if they had ever done a C7 windshield. They had not and said they'd watch a video before changing it out. I cancelled them and called the chevy dealer to see who they use and had them change mine. And as others have said request an oem.
Based on what I learned when getting my C5 windshield replaced even if you order the glass from GM you may not get the same glass the assembly plant uses. Service Parts orders from which ever supplier can provide glass meeting the proper specifications at the lowest price. That means it can have different markings from the original glass that came in the car.
The C7 glass is made by AGC Corp and is not DATE coded .
Safelite does not manufacture glass and if not required by the insured or the insurance company they can supply an OE glass which could be an AGC glass without the GM logo .
OE or GM heads up display interlayers are identical, now I am not talking about the Chinese parts like XYG that are flooding the market but brands like PILKINGTON , AGC and ZYG are all brand name OE glass that will fit fine and not have any distortion
Some want the logo but be forewarned the 400 to 500 dollar difference in price only buys you the GM logo . There is no difference in the parts that go to the assembly line and the parts that go to the aftermarket
Believe it or not, no matter how much you complain your insurance company does not have to authorize OEM glass , it depends on your specific policy and any OEM endorsement
As I understand it, "glass coverage/s" must be either covered by an extra $ premium rider to your policies, or, it gets applied to your deductible for any payment made beyond it by your carrier. Amica was emphatic in mentioning the above stipulated rules on my C7's glass coverage.

and absolutely insist on OEM
Had my 2014 Z51 done and Safelite did a fine job (they insisted on doing it in their shop and not in my driveway). That convinced me right there
Guys a Corvette is no harder to install than the average hi end automobile , the only reason that some shops would want to do them inshop is because they might want to put their best tech on it or the weather might not be condusive to a mobile install
here is a picture of my C63 getting a new windshield ...again not a hard install at all......
