Amidst the traditional argument, this comment stood out, as I was unaware of this issue and I'm not a Mustang owner.

lol did they fix this for 2019? Or at least send a recall notice (Mustang's version of Got the Letter) for their 2018 model year customers?

Sometimes I think maybe I should have gotten the M7 but then I nail the A8 and get this big grin on my face with the lightning fast shifts complete with backfire between shifts and think to myself this isn't so bad after all.

From what I know cars that were affected were limited to certain build dates due to "bad castings due to bubbles in the mold". They have not issued a full recall but were forced to issue a TSB recently because it was more than a few cars. I find it hard to believe in 2018 this kind of major power-train issue could happen on fairly high end sports cars that are made to be driven in high performance conditions. Sadly the domestic car companies seem to still struggle with the basics.

The shifter is way better if you like to shift. I got an automatic because I share with wife, but is more fun driving a manual and no overheating at the track. A8 automatic transmission has been a headache with many issues to owners

I'm glad my wife knows how to shift gears and prefers them just like I do. She doesn't get to drive my car though. We can afford more than one car, so she has her own car to drive. If she wants a Corvette, I'm sure she will get herself one.

Default Auto v. Manual

When I started driving, it was a real "oddity" to drive a auto. Learned to drive in a Simca, with a 4 speed on the column! What an adventure! The talk in school would revolve around "hay man, I drove an auto yesterday-what a piece of crap"!..The argument still goes on and on. It hasn 't change in 60 years! I drive a A8 in a 2017 ZO6. LOVE IT! But I am a lazy old man!

Are there any situation that M7 is faster than A8? Heard for M7 from 3rd or 4th gear on it's less shifting for M7, so roll race M7 might win?

Did they fix the overheating issue in A8 for 18 and 19 ?

Yea, when the car is grounded due to A8 issues

Sorry, even though I drive an A8, I couldn't resist...

I agree but for LT1 only. For LT4, auto is the smarter choice, IMHO.

I don't understand the question. What's an automatic or manual transmission?

[QUOTE=Ozzstar;1597768348]It's a tough choice to decide which to go with, an automatic or manual transmission when buying a new Corvette. I posted a video on my YouTube channel Ozzstar to get folks thinking about what they may or may not want. It's an agonizing decision sometimes. Have a great weekend everyone and get out there and drive like you stole it!!

Generally these days the auto is better. Although when it comes to a C7 a manual is the way to go. The A8 is a joke. That being said does anyone want to trade an M7 for an A8? lol

Go with manual if you are buying now. This may be your last chance as it has been reported there will only be auto on C8.
