Default Novistretch Install Question

For those of you who use the Novistretch front cover with either the Grand Sport or Z06 Stage II front splitter, did you remove the factory/dealership installed rivets underneath the front splitter in order to install the Novistretch snap screws? The wheel well snap screws are pretty self-explanatory, but I'm wondering about the best options for underneath the splitter.

I use a front splitter and Novistretch. I replaced two screws for the snaps, installed myself so went with screws vs. rivets. Remove two rivets to replace with snaps. Also drilled one hole in bottom of splitter in underneath center for the other snap.

17 GS, just removed the screws and installed the snaps only, didn't remove any rivets. The Z and GS get the middle snap and stingray does not. I had a stingray before the GS and works fine on both.

I agree..... no need to remove any rivets. I just replaced screws with ones with snaps. I have an aftermarket front splitter ( C7 Carbon ) carbon fiber splitter so there were no rivets used on mine. Just 3 snaps underneath.

As a side note...... I modified my NoviStretch bra to allow the front cameras to still work without the bra in the way. I marked the bra with it installed on the car where the two camera lens are, then took the bra off the car. I put the area where I just marked, stretched out using an 8 " embroidery hoop. I had it stretched out to about the same tension as when it's on the car. I then took a wood burning tool to cut out a round hole that is about an inch and a half in diameter. The woodburning tool melts the cut edge as it goes so it doesn't unravel or fray. To add additional support in that area, I took a black athletic shoe lace and folded it over the cut out circle and hand sewed it on cutting it to the proper length. So end the end, I have cleanly exposed 2 camera holes that are not going to unravel. Works great.

It's not on the car now, as I only use it for road trips, or I'd take some pics. I'll have it back on when we head back home in about 8 days from our trip to Southern VA..... Next Sunday taking the Vette to Virginia International Raceway ( VIR ) to watch the IMSA Weathertech Corvettes race. It's only an hour and a half from our lake home.... can't miss it.

Even though there are 3 snaps on the bottom of the Novi-stretch I only use 2 on my GS. Makes it easier to stretch over the license plate or behind it, my preference. I use the Sto n Sho plate holder so I uncover the plate when I'm in North Dakota and cover it all other times. Works great. I think the middle snap is useless.

When I look underneath the Stage 2 Splitter, I notice that the rivets are up near the front tip of the splitter. The only screws I see are the ones further back underneath the splitter about 18". Are those the screws I'm supposed to replace with the Novistretch snap screws?

Mine are a few inches back from the front edge. I can look for you in the morning if you wish. Also, the 3 don't exactly line up perfectly, they are slightly off to one side or the other.

Thanks. I guess I might be confusing rivets with actual torx screws. Below are pics I just took showing the front rivets (?) and the back screws. I would think that I wouldn't be stretching the Novistretch cover 18" underneath the splitter.

Can someone confirm if these front connectors are rivets or actual removable screws?

Hard to tell from the pic but a rivet has not way to remove accept grinding it off but the screws will have a head that a torx, screwdriver, or socket to fit and remove. U do not have to remove anything but the screws and install the snaps heads and replace screws for the braw. NO RIVETS at all.

I have a Scrape Armor Splitter Protector under my carbon fiber Stage 2 aero option Splitter. In fact I added Stage 3 Winglets and replaced the smaller Stage 2 Winglets (to help integrate the look of the spats!)

I just drilled two holes in the Scrape Armor "protector" and installed snaps I bought. In fact bought 1 inch long stainless screw snaps for the sides to clear the Stage 3 Winglets. Works great. Did need 1 inch snap extensions for the lower side snaps and I also used them for under the Splitter/Scrape Armor "spitter protector."

This is a PDF of my install with many pics: http://netwelding.com/Nylon_Bra.pdf

i just took a (somewhat) better photo. They look like torx screws which means I should be able to replace them with the Novistretch snap screws.
