Default Carlisle Corvette show traffic problems/solved

They are doing pipe line construction at various times in Carlisle on I81 causing major issues to north bound traffic, causing miles of back ups and hours of sitting. I am from Carlisle and typed up some easy directions to avoid any chance of getting stuck. In fact, this will get you around all of the Carlisle traffic. Any questions about Carlisle, send me a PM as I lurk in the C6 section for the most part. My suggestion would be, check your navigation or waze app, if you see red, follow the below instructions... See you there!!

Coming from the south in PA. (Chambersburg) north on 81 to exit 29, Shippensburg. End of ramp, Walnut Bottom Rd., turn left, west towards Shippensburg. Go approximately 2 miles. There will be a T intersection at a traffic light, you have to turn left or right. This is Rt.11, Ritner Hwy. Chevrolet car dealership on the right. Turn right, RT. 11 Ritner Hwy north towards Carlisle. Stay on Rt. 11 for about 12 miles into Carlisle. You will come to a traffic light at RT 233, Sheetz on left after about 5 miles. Continue north. Next traffic light, RT 465 (Allen Rd) (Sheetz on right), continue straight. Continue north 5 traffic lights, College St., Turn left. (Dickinson college on left and right) North on College St. (It's Pa., Yes it's north, don't ask) Follow College St. to the end, not quite a mile. Turn right, 4 blocks and you have arrived!! (And missed all the traffic). Any questions or need to know pretty much anything about Carlisle, let me know.

Sorry, but another update, 81 SOUTH was backed up 7 miles this morning. If you are coming south to Carlisle via 81, please check your navigation app for traffic. If you are travelling through the area before 9 am, you will be good, after that, who knows. "if" you see traffic is stopped/congested between Carlisle, mile marker 45, to Mechanicsburg, mile marker 57 please use these directions. Take exit 61. At the top of the ramp, turn right. This is SR944, Wertzville Rd. Follow SR 944 west. You will travel "about" 9 miles until you come to a T intersection. (you will be travelling on a country road the whole way) There is a turn off to the left at the base of the mountain, about 4 miles or so from when you left 81. If you start going up a mountain, you passed the slight curve. It is marked. At the T intersection, RT34 Spring Rd. turn left, south. Continue on SR34 Spring Rd. for a couple miles, it will feed right into the front gate of the fairgrounds. WHEN YOU TURN LEFT ON SR34 Spring Rd., DO NOT TURN RIGHT ONTO SR944 AGAIN. (it's odd, SR944 at the stop sign does not continue straight, it is several tenths of a mile south of the road you were just on, odd, Pa., can't explain it) DO NOT TURN RIGHT ON SR944. The weather forecast is unbelievable, 80 degrees Thursday through Saturday. I believe this will cover all the PM messages I have received. See you there.

Hey Guys,

I just drove my son back from the Lehigh Valley to University of Pittsburgh and then back - passing right by the entire Carlisle field - and there wasn't an ounce of traffic, construction, delays, or anything. I literally drove parallel to the entire field and I saw nothing that caused any delay... Maybe Im on different roads than is being discussed, but I just wanted to share what I experienced just this Sunday & Monday.

What about driving North up RT 15 from VA? Are any detours needed there? Thanks.

. I'm in central NJ and this is how I've been going the last couple of years. A bit more scenic than staying on the major roads but probably adds another 15-20 mins to the drive

Take 78 which turns into 81, take 81 to exit 61, right onto 944. Follow 944 Wertzville road to 34. Left on 34 Spring road, follow 34 to the fairgrounds.
