2014 Z51 Corvette A6. Overheating issue....
First of all this happened quite a while ago at night temp was around 80 degrees. Just got off highway easy on the car. Got the message on the dash, AC turned off. This was years ago....
First long road trip with the car today... temp around 90 degrees. Drove the car real hard zero issues. Later on the way home in traffic on the highway again at night car overheats... wasn't pushing it at all.... temp around 80...
seems extremely sporadic and random... first road trip with the car. Had it almost 3ish years just turned over 30k... guess I'll call GM as I have the extended warranty. Also have a 3LT with a ruined leather dash. I LOVE this car, but sometimes it's love hate unfortunately.

I think there have been some intermittent radiator cooling fan motors (or Cooling Fan Control Modules, which are mount to the back of the motor), at the root of some of the intermittent overheat problems.

Your warning signs are related to engine overheating, I don't think this has something to do with your transmission

If temp is good at speed and coolant level is also good, then I'd go with either the fans, their controller or something blocking the air flow

Have had my 2014 Stingray 4 years, 5 months and 3 days and have taken 4 trips of 3500 miles or more , driven it all over our area, and also drag raced it 8 times here in SW Florida ( where it's hot all year long) and have never had a single instance of any over heating. Nope, not freaking once!! So I would guess, looking at all the facts that you sir have issues with either your scheduled maintainance or your abuse of your car. I'd take it to your closest dealer and have them run the codes.

What an ignorant thing to say. Please tell me you know this guy and are giving him a hard time? Are you so insecure about your car that this guy’s malfunction means he must be a villain? You might want to read the maintenance intervals on your car, if you did you’d discover there’s no transmission maintence that could have been neglected at this point.

I let the car idle in the 90 degree direct sunlight AC on full blast today to try to replicate the problem. Didn't overheat at all. Maybe it was just two strange flukes!?

Read this, it might help you. I'm waiting for my next episode and then I'm replacing the fan.

On a corvette techs advice I replaced the coolant tank cap on my 15 Z51 with a new one. Haven't had a overheat problem since and it was less than $10 for the cap. Temp has never got over 190 since even on a 102 degree day. Go figure!

It's the fan.
Had the exact same symptoms with my 15.
Couple things you can do to test.
1. When it start to run hot pull over and pop the hood. I bet you will see the fan not turning. Smack the back of the fan and it should kick on.
2. When it starts to run hot pull over and turn the car off and then back on. That is typically enough to restart the fan.

Other things to check:
1) Look under the front of the car. Do you have any damage to your skid plates or have you (or previous owner hit a curb). I ask because that was the cause of mine - the previous owner bent a skid plate and your radiator is bolted to your skid plate. Bent skid plate = bent bolt to the radiator = possible damage to radiator. My radiator had a hairline crack in it, causing a super slow leak.
2) Check your coolant levels - if its low, this will cause those warning messages to kick off - especially since you say they occur sporadically - that means as you drive the level is "close" to low, and you get that warning.
