I had just finished waxing my 2019 and never noticed this until yesterday. 99% of the times my carbon flash emblems look black. And that's the way I wanted them to look. Well it took a little kid to point this out to me. After I parked, a little girl exiting the car next to me says. I like the way the fish is glittering. I said thank you! but confused at the same time. Turns out if the sun hits it at the right angle you can clearly see that sure enough. They were glittering! I'm not sure how I feel about it. But I'm thinking they're coming off and getting re sprayed. Mind you I purchased the car with them already installed. These were not bought off of eBay or Amazon. Not sure if this is the look GM was going for. But it's certainly not the look I was going for.
Keep in mind the glittering shiny effect don't show too much in the photos. I can assure you. They look like a kindergarten project will all different colors.

Carbon flash metallic has flake in the paint. If you have other trim on the car painted in CFM then it will do the same. The light is reflecting off the flake. If it has glitter in it then something is wrong, have GM look at it if it's still under warranty. They can get you new emblems.

I think it looks good, but everyone has their own tastes. As another poster said, if there are other CF pieces on the car, they may look the same. If you don’t care for the look, by all means have them repainted. They will still look good.
