2015 LT1 backfire

2015 LT1 backfire

When the auto shifts from first to second under max throttle there is a loud pop like a backfire which is also felt. this can't be normal. is this a known condition? is there a fix for this?

It is by design. If you push it hard enough you will have the same effect as it shifts into the higher gears as well.
