hey bud- let us know how it goes. As an iPhone owner I’m curious what works and am learning... I love how people jumped in with the their Android advice...like the Mac PC days lol.
Isn't GMs infotainment system based on Android/Linux? It makes sense that Android phones have no issues. I wish I could get behind Apple, but sadly, I can't. That is one weird fanboi cult going on there. There is a solution above. Results?

Lol, cult of ~1 trillion market cap (930 bill today). I take it you’re not a VC.
there are two mainstream systems. gm should be able to make it work on both...Everything else is a moron’s excuse.

I agree... it's weird even when they hit $1TT. Their products are absolutely ...blah... Naa, not a VC. I sold a few bitcoins for my C7 (prior to 12-2017).
I can receive messages ok, but when I try to reply I get this message "Error, the text message cannot be sent. This feature maybe not be supported by your phone." I have an iPhone 7+, so don't think that's a problem. Any one else see this?
I have an iPhone SE and am able to receive messages, but I do not get an audio alert that a message has been received and I cannot hear my phone "ding". If I'm not looking at the screen I would never know I have a message. Is there a setting somewhere to activate an audible tone or alert when a message is received?

Again, while i'll no doubt get jumped on by the Infotainment police, i plug my iphone cable in and get everything on text msg thru Carplay: send, receive, notification, reply back and forth easily, even good voice dictation with minimal distraction while driving thru my iphone...plus, the USB charger is great for my iphone.
I don't bother pairing the Bluetooth anymore which just drains my battery.
So, while I appreciate all the Nikola Teslas/ programmers on their Androids, I go by the saying: "dont let the perfect b the enemy of the good". I spend no time messing with settings, i just drive. :vader:
