2016 2LT Z06. I have read many threads on this. I have iphone7 with iOS 11.4. I have the car settings to receive texts. I think I have done everything in my phone to proper settings. I am not receiving. Phone is paired. Did I need to plug in usb cable?
On your phone go to settings and then Bluetooth. Hit the "I" part of the line for you Vette link. Make sure the first two items are checked they should be green.

Hello BudG
Try this: Go to Setting / Bluetooth / Turn on "Sync Contact" / "Show Notifications"
Should be the solution you're looking for. Worked for me.

Hmmm... I thought only 13yo girls have Iphones.
Now I know there are a lot of Corvette owners who want to be 13yo girls.
Do you guys also have the pink protective cover with the finger loop?

Nope, wife has one so I have to match so she can show me all the tricks!
But I seldom text, grandkids and daughters would hook me like they have her.
In fact have my phone SET to NOT receive calls when in motion. Just did it when we were taxing in an American Flight! I have to press "I’m not driving” to use it. In fact never connected Blue Tooth so I would not be tempted! Pleanty of time to check emails or make phone calls when I’m out of the car.
Frankly, with all the distracted drivers “having to see what useless message” someone sent, I spend all my time looking out for them. To keep my almost 60 year record of never having an accident with another car have to be looking at all mirrors and out front all the time! Perhaps if more folks were not like Pavlov’s dogs and didn’t have a conditioned response to a cell phone beep we’d all be safer! (Looking for wood as I know luck has been a factor!)
PS: I do love Apple CarPlay for NAV! Shows on the large LED screen and is always up to date. Phone has to be plugged in so it sits in the console when I use it! Still don't use it as a phone!
Unfortunately some have a learned compulsive reaction like Pavlov's Dogs!
Yes, u need to be in CarPlay function, which I understand stock is only wired thru USB.
No you don't. The car can receive text messages without CP or AA. And you don't need to use a cable. I guess you must ask where is the message coming from (what app?).

Same with my Galaxy S8+.
Just pair your phone with the car and you can use all calling and texting functions the phone provides through the infotainment system screen. No need to use a USB cable.

yup. iPhone7 and 2017 z06. Enabling notifications is the trick. Once I learned this I did it for my 2015 Tundra and works there too.

No you do not need to be in CarPlay. You also do not need to be connect by USB. It can be blue tooth.

That is exactly how you have to set it up to connect. Works for my Grand Sport, my F-150 and my Harley. Have to set it up that way for each blue tooth connection.

I hate Android. Was never so happy as to when iPhone became available on Verizon, got ride of my Android for good. Then again, I have been using Mac book pro since 09, as I got sick of working on Widows crap at home, I work on it enough at work.
My wife has way more issues with her Android phones than I do with my iPhone. She has a Note 8, and less than a year old all kinds of lock up issues, in for repair twice. My two year old iPhone still working great no issues.
Stan and Phil, those items were already on. Guess I’ll try the cable
hey bud-
let us know how it goes. As an iPhone owner I’m curious what works and am learning... I love how people jumped in with the their Android advice...like the Mac PC days lol.

This has nothing to do with your Corvette - it is an iPhone issue. You do not need a cable or Apple Car play. I had the same problem on my 2017 Acadia when I switched from a BlackBerry to an iPhone 6S.
Make sure you have not activated the "Do Not Disturb while Driving" feature in the "Notifications" menu. I suggest that you then reboot the iPhone by pressing and holding down both the home button and off switch. Then, once it has completely shut off, turn the iPhone back on and see if the problem has been resolved. This worked for me.

I can receive messages ok, but when I try to reply I get this message "Error, the text message cannot be sent. This feature maybe not be supported by your phone." I have an iPhone 7+, so don't think that's a problem. Any one else see this?
