Default Winter storage without Tender

Live in Colorado and want to store Vette but can't seem to find any storage units with electricity to run a Battery tender. What to do? Disconnect Battery for 4-5 months? Store outside with tender and with custom cover and tarps underneath? I will keep looking to find storage with electricity.

Thanks to all who responded. I plan to store in heated storage and remove battery and place on a tender. Thanks, again. Now can't figure out how to delete the thread.

I suppose one option would be to remove the battery and keep it at home on a battery tender. I doubt disconnecting it for 4-5 months would result in a functioning battery and at that point you would need to pull it anyway. I would prefer the inside storage, for sure. Just be careful for the usual rodents that seemingly are attracted to stored vehicles.

I would pull the battery and keep it charged up with a Battery Tender.

If no access to electricity for storage, then I’d pull the battery and place it on a BT.

Cold temps without a tender will kill the battery. Pull it out and maintain it at home. Or get snow tires

I live in Canada, put the car away in a unheated attached garage for the winter. We go to Florida after Xmas and come back in late March, I leave the tender on until just before we leave for Florida so it is fully charged. Just before we leave I pull the positive side off the battery , leave the battery in the car and it is fine when I come back. Have heard of military people who go overseas for months doing the same thing and no issues. When I come home I hook it back up, put the tender on for a day and away she goes. Cold temps actually slow the degradation of a battery, slows the chemical reaction. It is only because batteries tend to fail (more power required to start a car) in cold weather that folks think it damages them, it is because the battery is actually near the end of life.

"A 100 percent fully charged battery will not freeze until approximately minus 76 degrees Fahrenheit."

Pulling the battery seems to defeat the purpose of keeping the battery charged and in the car so you don't lose your car settings. What happened to putting the car in your garage for the winter? Usually your own garage has power. Or don't you have your own garage attached to your home?

You want the battery on a tender all winter for sure. Batteries have a longer life if they are on a battery tender while not in use.
