Default Relocation question

Hi All,

I am trying to move from Michigan to Texas. One option to move the C7 is through a closed auto transport carrier. Is there any other efficient / cost effective ways ? If carried open, can it be protected through covers of any kind ? Appreciate your inputs in advance

You could drive it....

I did the same from Ohio to Texas and Texas to Tennessee.

I'd guess shipping on an open trailer would be less risky (in terms of getting chips) than driving it.

True. Did you put on a nose bra or any protection ? Other issue with driving is it will add 1400 miles. Not that its deal breaker for me but something to think to see if its worth it

I am wondering if depending on the position you get in the trailer, rock chips / debris damage would vary or not

clear bra would solve it in any case (not to mention continued protection after the move)

I bought mine originally as my DD, so I wasn't going to obsess over mileage or normal wear and tear (I mean, I even bought the C7 in Colorado and drove it home to Tennessee through a horrible storm). A bumper respray down the road is a lot cheaper than a transport, and washes away a lot of sins from any driving.

Do not put a cover on it if using open trailer. Wind will make it scratch the paint

Drive it. It’s a Chevy that’s depreciating in value. It’s fun to drive.

I bought my car brand new north of Dallas and had it shipped open trailer to Houston for a couple hundred bucks. They put a big SUV in front of my car so it was well protected. Best to get a spot mid trailer so it's protected or pay the premium for enclosed transport. If you go open trailer and are still concerned I'd use this stuff.

I'm sure you have your reasons, but why did you buy a car if not to put miles on it? I certainly don't get it. If trailering though, I would go with enclosed.

Thats another good option. But then i dont have a truck to pull. If i rent through the truck through u haul, its expensive more expensive than open trailer transport :/

I do use it as a daily driver. Have put 15k miles in the last 1.5 years. Im certainly more inclined to driving it at this point. But just weighing out the pros and cons to see if its worth it

Thanks so much for your input. I checked the liquid protector film. Defintely consider putting it on and then driving it all the way instead of trailering

UHaul. The most efficient and easiest way to DIY....

I use a premier carrier MT, located in Dubuque, IA., exclusively on enclosed cartage that NOBODY beats in service/safety/speed/insurance AND $ !

If you do not want to drive it then enclosed trailer is the way to go.
