Well sir, for the first time in my life I looked up "Carter's" Liver Pills. I was spelling the way it's pronounced in my little southern area. When I hear "Ca" with the long "A" while not including the "R" I'm sure you know what that sounds like. It comes out like saying "far" without the "R", ex. It ain't "fa" (long A) up the road to get to the grocery store. Here in North Carolina the southern accent can be different depending on the region your in. But I do love the southern accent, and try as I might to retain that small part of my heritage. I can turn it on, and off depending on the situation.

Well, got the trans fluid changed today, and the part number was the same as used in 16C7Z's car. I talked with the Tech and he explained the shudder comes from the TC kind of skipping against the plate before it locks. He was confident this would clear mine up. However, I will hold off on my optimism until I see for sure.
I wussed out on the "warble" as I just wasn't in the mood to fight that battle today. I told the Service writer I would get back with him about it soon. I will say I was quite impressed with the service I received. The Service Writer was very helpful. I cheated, and talked to the Tech this morning at a local coffee shop that both of us frequent. When I arrived the Tech took the car out for a short time, and put it right on the lift when he returned. Done, and done.

Fingers are crossed this takes care of the shudder for you, Rebel. Definitely keep us posted! I kind of regret not just going through with the flush when I had it there, but oh well... With the Range in place, I feel better anyway

Reb, I have driven my car about 150 miles since getting the tranny flush. The shifting is very smooth now, even the first 1-2 shift which has always been pretty rough. I have not noticed any shuddering but I am using a Range all the time now. I am headed on a 400 mile road trip next weekend and may turn off the Range and see if I feel anything when it goes into V4 mode but I am tempted just to leave well enough alone and keep it in V8 mode all the time.
As for the warble I don't hear it while driving around town but I do hear what sounds like differential whine at low speeds but it may also be tire whine, I can't tell for sure. For now, I am leaving well enough alone and plan to drive the car and try to enjoy it. I am keeping my eyes and ears open for a replacement, maybe a new Z4. I haven't ruled out a C8 but not enamored with the mid-engine design.

The Range makes the Z06 run like it should have from the factory. The Range and ceramic brake pads are the two best changes I have made.

Is there any need for a range device if I operate the A8 in manual most of the time?
