Searched and read old posts. I see how they should work. I use the Track display in the HUD. After a couple weeks of driving I noticed a couple of green dots show up (2 on left, 2 on right) while revving from 1st to 2nd. Thought, “there’s the shift lights”. Then I could not get them to come on again with normal shifting. Still under the 500mile restriction.
Does the RPM have to be above a certain point to begin to see the shift lights? Figure they would be there at least when accelerating. Was just up to near 4K in first and no lights seen on HUD.
Is is mode related. Last test was in Touring mode. Does it have to be in Sport or Track? I’ll check that later.

Thoughts? Thanks.
Yes and Track mode. I dont recall seeing them in sport (but that may have changes since I got my 14)
. And they do not show up in the HUD
Green, yellow, blue, if I remember the sequence properly. Optimal shift point is when the two lines of dots meet in the middle...which is pretty close to redline..
you will alos see them sooner in track if car is not fully up to temp. (since redline is lower when the engine is not warm)
Yes, it was before the car was really warmed up when I noticed them on the HUD. Then nothing. So probably a lot closer to the red line when cold is why I saw them a couple times. Thanks.
Thanks for that. I have a manual and have not noticed it but I use the other round tach screen more. Also I have noticed that it changes on it's own sometimes and goes to just the speedometer. Not sure why that is.
Shift lights are display-dependent, not mode-dependent. I have my HUD and dash display selected in Track mode all the time. I DD my C7 and generally keep it in Tour because of crappy roads. Even though I'm in Tour most of the time, the shift lights are there on the Track display.
I use this display all the time, because it has every bit of info one might want on a single display. However, it only became available in MY18.

Those appear to be the shift lights over the RPM bar. Great display.
Yes, they are, and duplicated on the HUD. My 18 has been set on that display since shortly after delivery and never changed. I'd feel naked now without it up there.

Love that display. Do you actually have to be in Track driving mode to get all the engine and tire read-outs, or is it available and can be set for any driving mode such as Tour?
You can select which display you want in settings to be the same all the time, not mode-dependent. That picture above shows my car in Tour mode with a Track display and the option showing all vital stats. That's where it stays no matter which driving mode I select. The default option in display settings is "mode-dependent," which is why most folks see the display change every time they turn the selector ****.
If you select the eco mode (M7) with the track display shown in this thread, where is the indicator that the car went to the V4 mode? I tried this and felt it go into V4 but I didn't see any indications. Wasn't really studying it due to driving so it may have been there somewhere.
