Intermittent (and irritating) problems
My windshield wipers sometimes work fine. Sometimes the intermittent and slow speeds don't work at all and the wipers don't return to beneath the hood line when turned off. They just stop. My fuel and temperature gauges and left side speedometer stopped working for about two weeks. Now they work fine. Anybody else encounter this?

Sounds like you have an electrical short, will be difficult if not impossible to diagnose without taking to dealer.

Sounds like your battery may require replacing or a BCM going bad.

I already replaced the battery once. I have 72K+ miles in 4 1/2+ years. What's a BCM?

A BCM (Body Control Module) is an electronic control module responsible for monitoring and controlling various electronic devices / accessories in a vehicle.

MY 14. I bought an extended warranty at 36K miles. I haven't discussed this with the dealer yet, but I'm taking it in for service next week.

Excellent, get it on record & see what they do or don't do & go from there.
Wise move acquiring an EW, simply smart so use it.
Then, report back.
