I laughed when my neighbor told me my car was loud

like i said, I used to run on Sport 100% of the time with the NPP fuse pulled. Am I losing that much on the Street on throttle response? I’m trying Eco now with the Track exhaust mode on PSS fires and still can’t put much of the power down in the lower gears. I still go into Sport mode when I hit some windy roads near me and want some more spirited driving.

A stupid Harley? Worthless sound? Both the Vette and Harley are music to my ears and equally as exhilerating. You must be a presumtuous Vette owner, the one who assumes HD riders are all bad folks? Ignorant!

I love the sound of my Vettes! I have Bullets on them.
However, I try to be considerate of the neighbors. I keep the RPMs as low as possible whilst in the neighborhood . Once I get out, then all bets are off. Same when coming back in the neighborhood. If I have to leave early (while still dark) I will fire them up in a closed garage, because they are loud as all get out, then after they settle down (10 seconds in) open the garage door.
And this is in a neighborhood where no one is on less than three acres (some are a dozen acres).
I try not to be an ***. I save asshatness for emphasis. Otherwise, it loses its impact.

Can’t see how the stock exhaust is that loud to where it bothers the neighbors. But everyone has their noise threshold.

But you seem to be the arrogant Type that gives Vette owners a bad name. You noise is fine, but if its noise from something other than your interest, well its stupid.
Me, I have loved Corvettes and Harley's since the very early 70's as a young boy. I have owned both since the mid 80's. I have always like things with motors. My boat is louder than my car or my bikes.

Problem with neighborhoods is you can't control other, well neighbors. If Noise is a factor??
Get out of the neighborhood.Head for the woods were it's you and Nature.
Guess it is your decision living close to others or along a Highway.
Common sense and courtesy is gone nowadays. Some don't give a crap.
It's about ME....Screw You

Exactly. Within 15 seconds, the car loses the harsh snarl of starting up cold, then open garage door and idle out. Much better than what the guy across the street does when he fires up his modified Jeep at 7 am outside lol

"In honor of jpee"
I'm in a built-up community. I appreciate the fact that for 10+ years anyone who had a loud car kept it on quiet mode. No more tho with at least two cars and a big pick truck just recently. Mine, I actually tuned the exhaust so it wouldn't reverb off the setback homes. It worked and couple folks actually noticed and told me it was all good. Neither should I, or anyone else have to move for some peace and quiet.
And if someone does have to, then we wonder why there is an increase in crazies going, well, crazy and using weapons. Used to be there was this little thing in school-respect the rights of others. Still applies---peace and quiet is one of them. Couple on here do. jmo.

Some folks will never be happy...no matter what. You can pick your nose, butt, friends and job. You cannot pick your relatives or neighbors. I am respectful of the couple of neighbors I have other than that they can move if they are not happy with how I live.

Meh, I care enough to close my garage door when I start and settle, but not enough to turn on stealth mode or let off the throttle.
This is part of what I mean.
You can’t please everyone, even if you start the car with the garage door down and let her settle. (Which I do)
Luckily, 99% of the time I get people coming up to praise the car’s beauty and excitement. And luckily the referee (HOA) here let’s us play.
WWC- Since you you jumped in, I would like to conduct a little experiment. I’m betting a lotto ticket you own a newer Bimmer (post E90) with Active Exhaust Noise (exhaust sounds enhanced 20-30% through the interior stereo), prob a turbo even?? 5 or 6 series (2,3,4 too small for you)?? Such guys are usually sensitized to the exhaust noise issue because of the emasculating comments they get at Cars and Coffee That would make it an N of 2 based on the other commenter.

When I brought my 2016 Z06 home for the first time this summer, the lady next door came over immediately to admire it. I started it up, and explained the NPP exhaust to her, in simple terms. I told her that I planned to use stealth mode when in the neighborhood, and she said don't bother, there are no kids or really old people living in the vicinity, let 'er rip! Also I am retired, so it's rare that I'm leaving early in the morning. So I leave it in sport mode most of the time, but not really getting on it until I'm out of the subdivision. Life is good.

My neighbor across the street has a Cobra with side pipes.
I don't worry about my NPP exhaust

No need to pull the fuse if you have an M7. Put the exhaust in Track Mode using Engine Sound Management and it will stay in track mode unless you run in Eco and the engine switches to V4. The exhaust closes when the engine switched to V4 and reopens when it switches to V8. The only reason the A8 people pull the fuses is because the engine can switch to V4 mode even when the mode selection is not set to Eco. They have to select the Transmission Manual mode so the engine doesn't switch to V4.
