I laughed when my neighbor told me my car was loud

No need to pull the fuse if you have an M7. Put the exhaust in Track Mode using Engine Sound Management and it will stay in track mode unless you run in Eco and the engine switches to V4. The exhaust closes when the engine switched to V4 and reopens when it switches to V8. The only reason the A8 people pull the fuses is because the engine can switch to V4 mode even when the mode selection is not set to Eco. They have to select the Transmission Manual mode so the engine doesn't switch to V4.

Respectfully, I see you post this all of the time in threads like these. Test it out, the exhaust still closes in track mode unless you pull the fuse. Its an easy test.
Its really hard to miss this, as in track mode it might as well be open all of the time, but there IS a difference, albeit not worth it enough for me that I even have left out a mild2wild device.

I am in stealth mode as quiet as a mouse, in anything I drive, in every neighborhood, as quiet as I can possibly be. Respect is everything.

Dunno. I always try and be considerate of others as I live my life. If hearing this, I'd adjust my driving and exhaust settings when leaving my home. Once out of the area, I'd dive the car as I choose. Simple and easy, but such an accommodation is lost on more and more of our population.

Given what was said w/ conversation I didn't get the impression the guy was complaining.
Sounded like he was paying a compliment, essentially saying you've been noticed.
Had he asked you tone it down, that's be a whole different matter.
A C7 whatever can't possibly be as annoying as many others in the development.
IMO this was handled correctly, no complaint lodged, just some can hear the car coming/going.
Guy who posted video of Z doing mega burnout generates valid complaints.

This is probably obvious, but if you have a door in the garage to the house, be sure it is sealed well. You could be channeling carbon monoxide into the house.

However, pulling the NPP fuse (#42/87 "exhaust valve 2") doesn't really make the exhaust louder vs Track Mode. In Track Mode exhaust, the NPP valves stay open most of the time anyway. They close at certain speeds/rpm (e.g., below abt 36 mph in 4th gear, below abt 80 mph in 6th or 7th overdrive, 1500-2500 rpm depending on driving mode) in order to pass federally mandated "drive by" sound tests. Pulling the fuse just keeps them from closing in those conditions.
Some people leave the fuse in because they don't like the highway cruising drone at 80 mph...

I ran into him at a local restaurant where he saw my CRY ‘17 Z M7 I got two months ago parked in front. He wasn’t exactly complaining but remarked that he and some neighbors know me as the “Red Baron” because they can hear me every time I drive by. He then introduced me to this lovely woman at the bar as the Red Baron of our hood.
Mind you, the environment I live in is a quiet serene neighborhood built on a peninsula next to a wildlife preserve with a quarter of people owning Tesla’s, a half of people SUVs. There’s one Ferrari F430, a Lambo Diablo, one 5th gen Viper, a Cayman GTS, and one new NSX I’ve seen. Two C2 Vettes. And one GT350. There’s a single road leading in and out of the peninsula for a mile with lots of stop signs. So my Z is periodically launching and going between 1st and third gear. I run on Eco with the Track exhaust on, stock exhaust.
Anecdotally, had a ‘17 GS A8 for over a year b4 this and never got a remark. I love the exhilarating sound when I first turn on the engine. Another thing that I love abt my Z. These people need waking up ha!

I'm a nice neighbor. I put the car in "tour" mode after I pull into the driveway so that I don't wake the neighbors up in the morning. I leave at 5:45am and many of our neighbors sleep with their windows open in the summer time.

There's a fuse you can pull to turn off the Active Exhaust (amplified sound from exhaust and engine through stereo).

I turn my C7 to ECO before backing out of the driveway and jumping on an interstate to go to the gym at 4:45 AM most every morning in consideration of my neighbors, who are all still asleep.
