So now when I get the no FOB detected, I hit the unlock or lock button & the car wakes up & works normal. I have no idea why the car does what it does, but my guess the car goes into a deep sleep sometime & just has to be awakened.
Interesting. This just happened to me exactly as described above after my car had sat for ~2 weeks.

It's funny that nobody commented that you can use the direct connect feature in the steering column on the C7 if your battery ever goes dead in your remote. The C6 has the feature, but it is located in the glovebox. That way you can always start your car even if the battery is dead in the remote.

This has been mentioned at least a few times in this thread.

Oops. I saw that it was mentioned. My bad. I was reading too fast and skipped a few posts.

I think Lisa is correct. See post 6, 8, and 9.

Never mind, you caught that fact just as I was posting! Hang in there Tim!

To be more precise, the FOB can be inserted w/o a battery in the slot and the car will start.

Yes, because it's not a direct connection. It works through the magic of electromagnetic induction.

Who cares? he's not hurting anybody and I've watched a few of his vlogs. I would suggest you not watch if it bothers you. Look at the start of this thread and you will see he started it and he said he would post a video when he found out the issue. You were warned so you probably shouldn't have looked at it after that.
