Are we still beating this horse???? If you want a Corvette with round tails, there are others available besides a C7.

That Italian kit was never made. RPI started making a round tail light rear end, posted it on CorvetteForum and it was an overwhelming flop. They never made it. C7 Corvette Rear Bumper w/Round taillights - Our first shot, are we on right track?

Interesting to see that some of those basing the C7 back then are the same ones basing the C8 now.

Not beating a horse nor do I want round tail lights on my C7Z. My question was whether anyone has ever seen a conversion kit installed or whether anyone actually took the leap and performed the mod? I remember there were a lot of upset traditionalists screaming for round tail lights after the C7 was introduced so I’m curious if anyone acted on those impulses, but per the post above, it sounds like the kits were never produced.

If anyone would have responded saying that they saw them in the wild and they looked great, would your REALLY believe them?

I thought the same thing after my post. I wonder if anyone who did perform this mod would now admit it or even post pics.

LOL - I think that they would only admit that they made a mistake by performing the mod

Yikes, some people never give up. Round taillights are GONE FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE AND THAT IS A VERY GOOD THING. I have a C6 and a C7 and I like them both for different reasons and I never look at the C7 and wish the friggin taillights were round. So why this obsession keeps going on about keeping the past is beyond me. Round taillights on any of these new designs would look like total azz. Please. Design moves on and should not be a repeat of the past. If you want the old stuff, buy the old stuff and be done with it. Stop beating the dead horse because no one really gives a damn.
Hopefully chrome wheels will get right in there with round taillights sooner than later.

I like the C6 as it is and the C7 as it is. Each is unique and different in its own way.

The circle has been a fundamental geometric design since man has walked on this planet. It is not some fad they comes and goes with the times and whims of designers. It will be a part of the human expereince till the end of time. Many auto manufacturers still design very stylish autos with round tail lights and will for many years to come. The round tail lights had been a iconic design element used on Corvettes for some 50 years. Don't be a bit surprised if you see it return on a Vette someday soon.

MMD, define "soon". They won't be round on the C8.

my crystal ball is no better then yours. Circle shaped lens will always be a part of the automotive world. They can be very decorative if done properly. Take a look at Ferrari supercars. At some point in time someone in GM might just say we need to do a retro version of this car.

Genovation is doing an electric version using a Grand Sport or Z06 as the starting block. They thought it needed the round tail lights.

"at some point in time" is not "soon". You said "Don't be a bit surprised if you see it return on a Vette someday soon." My crystal ball is good enough to see that they won't be on the C8. C9 - who knows. But that won't be "soon".
