Default PDR Memory card

Hello all,

I was wondering what you all are using for your memory card for the PDR? I just got my 2019 in and wanted to use the PDR only to find out the car didn't come with one. I came across this one from Costco and didn't know if I could use it in my car. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Yup, that Sandisk card is fine for our PDRs. I'm using a Sandisk Extreme Pro 128GB. No issues.

The manual recommends up to 32GB. Are you able to utilize all 128 GB, or just 32? If you're using more than 32 GB, how did you format it?

Search around the forum. Word is, if it's 64GB or more you have to format it differently than how it comes originally. That way, you would get the full amount of storage. But maybe the 2019's have different software to accept all sizes.
I use two 32GB and take one to delete when full and put in the empty one. As far as I know, it won't auto overwrite.
Wish it did! I use it daily to work and around town as a dash cam and it lasts about 2 weeks.

The manual can recommend all day long. I have 2 x 128GB cards that I interchange that uses every bit of it. Format it FAT32, like the manual says, and you're golden. The problem (on Windows boxes) is that Windows won't format beyond 32GB. I used a tool called guiformat. The actual limit of FAT32 is 2TB.

Another good one is SDFormatter

and if you need to image an SD card:

You will want a Class 10 card. On a Mac use Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility to reformat to FAT32.
  • A 256MB card gives you about 5 minutes of recording, a 64GB card gives you 1540 minutes (25 hrs)
