I believe the C6 is the most reliable generation of Corvette ever built since the C7 has some issues which I am not going to detail. The extra several thousand dollars of savings would be nice. Corvettes depreciate fast but it's nice to have the pizzaz of the C7. Since this is posted in a C7 discussion you will find more people stating the C7 would be the best choice. It's basically a choice of how much money you feel comfortable in spending on a depreciating vehicle. Everybody's situation is very different and only you can decide which car works out the best for you.

I just recently went from a C6 to a C7 i doubt very much you will regret your decision if you upgrade to a C7
C7 is light years ahead in every way IMO... i felt the same way thinking i would miss my C6 that lasted about 1 hour after i took delivery of my C7
Good Luck what ever you decide to do...

I posted this in the C6 section and they sent me here ...
The GS is a 3LT ,27,000 miles and flawless. A6, all stock.
New Michelins, battery, new fluids ,new plugs. Nice car. I could pay cash for this car. Those are the pros. The cons are it's had 4 owners. No warranty.
The C7 is a base Stingray 1LT 8 spd. . Not a lot of options but for a first time Vette owner I think I could make do.
I would have to finance about $15,000 for this one.
I've driven several C6's and two C7's .
I like the roominess of the C6 , the C7 seems smaller interior wise but is a badass ride in my opinion. I'm 5'-8" so I easily fit in a C7.
It seems like the C6 guys hate C7's. I like both . I also think a well setup C5 is killer looking so I am not biased.
What do you C7 dudes think?

The GS got sold . He got the $34,000 too
Oh well it had too many owners. That was kind of a red flag for me.
So the search continues. I might just wait a month or two since it's winter here and can't drive it anyways. I'm warming up to a used C7.
There is a lot of them out there.
One thing I noticed is that the C7's seem to have more miles on them per year compared to the C6's

I am obviously biased, but if I had a choice with a perfect C6 Grand Sport over a C7 Base, I would go with the C6. Especially, if you are going to buy it outright and then you can use a bit of money to update the tech, if you want to include a better stereo/rear camera etc, and whatever performance upgrades you would like. As long as the service records are good and the car is as you want.
Definitely try out both. I felt a bit cramped in the C7, and I am not a big guy, 6ft 220lb. Just like the openness of the C6 interior, and I like the curves of the C6 over the "robotic edges" on the C7. Though, I have seen some sweet looking GS and ZO6 in the C7. But I still like the flow of the C6 body.
If you like the C7 I would definitely look for a used 2LT or 3LT with the options you want. I think you would regret not doing that. Granted the 1LT has more things than the C6 2LT has with the upgrades in technology and standard options (Rear Camera, 9Speaker Bose with Apple/Droid Compatibility) etc.
Not sure if you like Inferno Orange, but there is a nice 1 owner 22k miles for 37 in Iowa City. It is about 250 miles away, but sometimes it is worth it to get what you want. I had to drive about 2.5 hours to get mine.
Good Luck with the search. That is half the fun, at least until you get the Vette you want.

Owned a C6 Grand Sport and a Z51 C7 Stingray. No comparison. C7 Hands down, and its not event that close. The only 2013 anything I'd consider would be a 427. Not a Grand Sport.

Convertible version of the story
I've had a C5, 3 C6's and 2 C7's; my jump from 6 to 7 was from a 2012 GS Conv 6MT 3 LT to a 2014 Z51 Conv 1LT 7MT; in brief; the C7 "shrinks" around you much more as a sports car while the C6 GS was more of a cruiser. C6, GREAT bang for the buck, C7 better SPORTS car.....no bad choices

I had a C3 a C4 a C5 And now a 13 grand sport and next year I will be getting a C7.With that being said I liked all of my vettes,And every form seems to knock the last model vette,I think any vette that’s newer is built to be better if it is or not but the manufacturer makes improvements each new generation either good or bad but their intentions is to make it better. But vette owners should stop knocking other vettes no matter what years if its a clean vette compliment them.Me personally I still love a C3 vette that is if its clean and one day I will get another C3 for my second vette. I will have a newer one but will keep the C3 at all times.I was at a Mustang meet with a friend last year and all I heard how they complimented on all the mustangs of all years but they seem to love the GT 350 mustang a lot.But from generation to generation of vettes it was good for that generation and I think they are the best sports car of the generation they are in.I think C7 owners should not knock C6 owners and should not knock the C5 owners and so on because I bet as soon as the C8 comes out they will be on there knocking the C7 and it shouldn’t be that way.Just my opinion and sometimes I read on forms the last generation vette owners knocking the new generation vette which I always wondered why just love it because it’s a vette.. LOVE OF THE CORVETTE FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION.

If comfort is your primary concern, I'll go even further to say you should definitely be looking at a 12/13 C6 with mag ride and alcantera seat inserts. Had that setup on my 13 GS and it was significantly more comfortable than my 15 Z51 3LT w/mag ride. Not sure why it's so different, but my 15 in tour mode feels as stiff/stiffer than my 13 GS in sport mode, with significantly more impact harshness just driving around town (with same diameter but much wider wheels/tires on my 13 GS).
Not saying the C7 isn't a comfortable car, it is, for a sports car. The 13 GS with mag ride was just comfortable period.

I do not know if dealer's in your area are willing to deal, or if you are willing to go out of state for a purchase. But I was able to get a 2019 1LT/M7 two days ago for under 46K, incuding taxes/title. I too was looking at a later C6 GS, but for the price, for me, the C7 was the best choice. With the high inventory at the dealerships, I was able to get a new car for less than a couple year old used.
I do know one dealership here in AZ is advertising a blue 1LT/Auto for 49k, and I am sure you could bargain them down.

I can only speak to the C7 sport seats, but yes, they are way narrower than the C6. 2012/2013 C6 seats are the most comfortable seats I've had in a Corvette, and that covers C4, C5, C6 & C7 sport seats. 12/13 C6 seats are a decent upgrade over earlier C6 seats (have many hours in earlier C6 seats for comparion), and are probably the best "grand touring" seat in a modern Vette. The C6 seats are a suspension design, which makes the base very comfortable (as long as you don't put it 100% down, then your *ss will be bumping the motor under the seat). The alcantara inserts are very worthwhile as they help keep you from sliding as much as leather and also breathe a lot better (somewhat making up for lack of ventilated seat option). 12/13 C6 seats are also easier to get in and out of.

I like the C6 for what it is, I don't need apple car play or the latest nav system or heated seats for that matter....to me a Corvette is a sports car, not a Cadillac

I'm thinking along those lines myself. I do like heated seats, but I have a car loaded with technology that I hardly use. I just like driving.
