Thanks for all your help guys. Here's what I learned throughout this process. First, email: socialmedia@gm.com to get a build sheet. They just need a name, year and VIN. Got an answer back the next day with a build sheet for my 14 a6 vert clearly showing auto start. Ordered the correct 6 button (ending in 66) transmitter and programmed it. Used the short program with my working fob and stock key and I'm up and running with auto start and remote top down. Works perfectly!

So apparently my dealership was either lazy or not knowledgable. Got a build sheet from socialmedia@gm.com showing my car has autostart. Ordered a new key fob from amaz and programmed it in 5 minutes. Everything works perfectly. Thanks all for all the help. FYI, both the 65 and 66 fobs work for 14 verts however the 5 button doesn't have auto start button as its for the manual. Thanks all!
