The Curb Alert is not a front camera but a sensor usually installed low and centered on the front, possibly in the grill. It's about 1 1/2 x 3/4 inch rectangle and an after-market item usually installed by the owner. The Curb Alert sometimes notices an on-ramp as an obstacle as it slopes upward. The Curb Alert produces 3 Beeps when obstacles are sensed.

Gotcha. No, nothing like that.

Not sure if this is your 'beep', but it took me a while to figure out this beep that I get.
Although that can happen it is more than likely the beeping is from the motion detector button located right next to the hatch release. I hit it all the time when I am on track. There are a number of PDR videos posted by various forum members on Youtube where you can hear the beeping sound as they hustle around the track.

I found it was the radar detector setting causing it. Most don’t realize they have this. PS: If you have one.

Please elaborate, because what you have posted makes no sense to me or other RD users.

No radar detector that I have ever owned has ever beeped only three times, and then stopped.

Look, just offering a suggestion. I actually helped another forum member who had similar situation (it was his detector). In the menu settings of most radar detectors, I have a Uniden R3 & Beltronics GX65, they have a speed warning setting. As to EXACT NUMBER of beeps I don't know or care. It's like the beeps for leaving RKE inside of car, some say 2-some 3. Just thought the OP could EASILY check this in his radar detector & if not what it is, no harm no foul. Not like MY suggestion/opinion was as far out there as some. Just trying to help my fellow member not get folk's panties in a wad.

Okay...so today on a wide open, no other traffic, back road I hit 107 and the beeps happened again.
The speed notification setting is off. I don’t have a radar detector. I didn’t see any message in the DIC.
Nothing. I haven’t been able to tell where the beeps are coming from. I ask the guy with me and he said he heard it more from the passengers side. Which is what it sounded like to me. He thought maybe he hit the door lock or something. So I thought maybe my leg or knee hit the door open button on my side...so I tried to open the door a few minutes later while driving, but no beeps. Is there somehow an automatic speed sensor that notifies you at 100? No other idea of what this could be.

See post #21, The Curb Alert speaker is usually installed on the passenger side under the dash.

Any chance your left knee is hitting the interior motion alarm button?

Hey Gvnski!
Heres a Couple of Pics. There are two things under the passenger side dash. One has a little red button on the front. The left one is a little larger. Sorry the pic isn’t great.
The other is of something behind the grill on passengers side. Could that be the sensor? I don’t see anything on the actual grill or front of the car.

I don’t think so. I was watching things like that this time.
The curb sensor sounds like the answer, but I don’t see anything on the grill itself.

Some people mount the sensor under the front lip.

The first picture of the module is definitely the Curb Alert module with speaker, the little red button is the system reset. The other picture is not the sensor, it could be mounted under the fascia or in/around the grill. Mine is mounted to the bottom of the front plate bracket.

Here is a picture of my Curb Alert sensor, the rectangle under the plate.

yep, that is definitely what it is. I now see the wires coming into the engine compartment and running along to the front of the car then dropping out of sight toward the front grill. The red wire looks like it’s running to the fuse box.
I still do not see anything in or around the Grill or under the front facia. Nothing. I wonder if it’s come loose and is dangling somewhere. I will take a good look at some point when I can get it on a lift. I’ve had the car for two months and I’m still discovering things.
at least I know what it is now! Thank you!

In the meantime you can turn it off by unplugging the speaker cable at the control module.

The only time it’s made a noise is when I’ve been doing *** or more. I think I’ll leave it and sort it out so I can use it for actual curbs. Obviously something the first owner added that I like. So I’d like to use it properly.

That's the strangest part because it is not speed sensitive. I had one on my 2014 and it only beeped if the front dipped down or I approached a raised object.
