I completed the installation of a Z06 front grille on my 2016 Z51 this past weekend. Now that the deed is done, I'm very pleased with it. The grille is a huge appearance improvement. However, word to the wise for those of you considering the swap - bring your A game in terms of patience when you do it. Getting the nose off is pretty straightforward. This is where the fun begins. Getting the old grille out of the nose proved to be a huge PIA for me. The plastic tabs that hold the grille in place do not like letting go of the grille. The best way I found to do it was to begin on one far side, pop one tab loose, and then work your way one pair (top and bottom) of tabs at a time toward the other side of the nose. Use a large flat-blade screwdriver to pop the tabs loose.
I agree with the patience......I changed out the grill on my 16 Z51 3LT vert with cameras. watching a video while doing it the scariest part was when you are separating the nose from the car and it will hang up around the headlights.....video says...give it a good pull..WHAT????? it was scary....but turned out great and no damage!!
