Smog sticker on C7...
I'm looking at C7s from other states and don't know what to look for regarding CA requirements. The CA DMV shows an example of a smog sticker from a Toyota but here is one from an out of state C7. Does anybody have experience with this? Thanks, Bob

Well what is it you are looking for? Most likely it says 50 state emissions. Are you looking to buy an out of state corvette and bring it into Cali? There are a few things you need to know. First off if you buy a new corvette from an out of state dealer the emissions sticker must say 50 state emissions. If it does not say that Cali will not let you bring the car into cali and register it until: Its at least 1 year old since it was purchased and it must have 7500 miles on the car. Thats if the car does not have a 50 state emissions sticker.
If it has the 50 state emissions sticker on it, you must have the VIN and emissions sticker inspected (by dmv or AAA), the car must then pass an emissions smog test (yes, even if you bought it new out of state), and then you get to pay cali sales tax and registration! Oh boy!!!

Burning Brakes
The sticker is your photo indicates that the vehicle is California compliant. "U.S. EPA" means federal compliant. All California compliant Corvettes are also federal (or 50 states if you prefer) compliant.
Buy, pay the fees and taxes, and enjoy!!

Something else you need to be sure of before you buy - CA is very picky about mods. They allow any engine mods as long as they're CARB (California Air Resources Board) compliant (has an EO number). If they're not then you'll have to revert it back to stock. So you want to be positive there are no headers, removed cats, modified intakes, etc.

Bob. In the last month or two there was a very detailed thread about bringing a used C7 into CA. Step by step instructions on what to do.

Here is the sticker from a 2016 Z06 bought new in Ohio, appears to have CA compliance annotated.
Do remember a thread where someone bought a C7 with an aftermarket hood and no sticker...oh boy was that a good read on insanity.

Actually since I am a dealer in California, just giving you a heads up that all C7s are 50 state legal. Doesn't matter if it has YF5 California emissions, FE9 Federal emission, or NE1 emissions. They are all 50 state. I buy them from other dealers out of state all the time and have them shipped here.

I ordered my '17 GS from a dealer in OH (Rick Conti) for NCM delivery and it had this same sticker under the hood. There is a no-cost option (YF5 I think) that specifies CA emissions. All the cars are the same 50-state compliant, the option code just adds the sticker that CA DMV looks for. Because I bought from a dealer in OH, I paid OH taxes and the car was originally titled there. I drove it back to CA, took the OH title to DMV, they inspected the car for the sticker, I paid CA fees (and the difference between OH tax and CA tax) and got the tags.

Just read the hood sticker. I have an FE9 emissions car here now and it says California on the sticker under the hood.
