for a new years present
i sent my car off to the detailer for a good new year bath. My 2017 vert is getting ready to hit 22.5k on the clock. It's to my understanding that the air filter needs changed at this mileage. Can someone give me the part number for the air filter in a base 2017. The dealer where I take my car the service dept caught on fire and they can only do oil changes at a remote location. That being said I think I may be better off if this time I take the car to the cadillac dealer where my wife takes her car. I called that dealer and they said it would be a good idea for me to bring my own air filter. I guess cadillacs dont have the same filter as the C-7
Are we talking about the engine air filter or the cabin air filter? At 22,500 GM lists the cabin air filter which is what I referenced above. Engine filter is at 33,700.
Not surprising at all. There is a reason they are called "stealerships". The largest profit center is the service area (parts and shop work), closely followed by F&I (Finance and Insurance).
Bavaria - follow this link - I actually did this last year and started a thread on it cause honestly, its not a hard job, but its a PITA just trying to get the filter back in... If you scroll a ways down, there are even videos and pictures in some of the replies:
With all due respect to those who responded, thank you!
However, (unless I missed it, which is entirely possible), I was asking for a how to regarding changing the cabin air filter, not the engine air filter.
I'll undoubtedly come back at a later date asking for help with the engine air filter.

Thanks a lot guys, It was the service writer that told me to change the engine air filter at the 22.5k miles, I think I will order the cabin filter and engine air filter just to have on hand in the car when I take it in for service. I even put a set of jacking pucks on the passenger seat when it goes to service. Chevy has never used the pucks. (they must have their own) But this time my car is going to cadillac where my wife takes her car so the pucks will come out of the cubby in the trunk. Plus I will take both key fobs, cadillac does a free battery change in the fobs. at least the dealer where my wife goes does.
I did ask why chevy don't do that with the batteries. The service writer said the GM will not give chevy the same budget that cadillac gets for a concierge service

I think I may have missed it you mention "cabin", but next time, please mention exactly which filter when asking for help...that way no one has to assume:
FWIW, after watching the video, I found getting to the cabin air filter in my '15 was much easier than it was in the '14 shown. Mine is directly behind the fuse box, a little wider than the fuse box, and with no oil lines in the way. 5 minute procedure.
