Default Fluid Flush

I'm thinking it is about time to put some fresh fluids in the 2014 Stingray. She just turned over 25,000 miles. I was considering have the clutch, transmission and differential done.

What do you think about the timing?
Are there any better brands that you all have used and been pleased with?
Do it yourself or have someone else do it? (I don't have access to a lift)

Thank you.

Actually there a few DIY places that rent lifts by the hour, in your area (Phoenix and beyond). Search google for "DIY car lift rental".

I did all of mine around 22K because it was after my first track day.

Clutch - used the Ranger method (google it), super easy just requires lifting the hood and having a turkey baster
Transmission - easy to do on just jack stands
Rear Diff - kind of a pain due to where the fill port is but manageable if you have the right tools and smaller hands

I used this DYI - https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...d-service.html it lists the fluids and procedure. I used Mobil 1 products because they were available locally but I've used Redline in the past on my other car. For the clutch I used Pentosin DOT 4 LV (250 ml)

The transmission fluid was still mostly red, it didn't look bad at all but the cars seems to shift better now
The clutch fluid was golden brownish, not as bad as pictures I've seen but this job is so easy I think I'll do it at least once a year regardless
The diff fluid was greyish, I've seen much worse but since I track the car this needs to be replaced more often then normal

Im only going to speak about the clutch fluid - as JMII stated - use the ranger method - its super easy and takes no time at all... Here is a post that I created that offers a ton of information about the Ranger Method:

jdk541;

Great question,

Yes, changing fluid @ 25K and 5 years, is something, I would consider doing as well, based on how, I used my vehicle.

Note: Please also consider changing your brake fluid, every other year or more, depending on your specific use of your stingray.

*Reason-Brake fluid is "hydoscopic" = attracts water/moisture.*

Conversely, today's cars are using new and improved fluids, that you may just consider simply following your owners manual schedule, depending on your use of you particular Corvette.

Many thanks,

Ray

I had all the fluids changed my '16 Z51 Stingray at a couple of thousand miles (at that point engine oil had been changed at 500 miles). I wanted all the break-in metallic particles out of the car. I also change the brake fluid every two years (or once a year if tracked). I use GM OEM fluids for everything.
My maintenance routine for fluids is:
Engine oil - at 50% or less oil life remaining
Transmission & differential at approximately 1500 to 2000 miles (after break-in period) and thereafter according to GM schedule
Clutch and brake fluid every two years (or yearly if tracked)
Engine coolant is monitored and changed if acidic (after 3 years it is still okay) or every 5 years

This is the routine I followed with my '98 Firebird and '05 C6. The Firebird was extensively tracked

I feel less than trained to do this. I have a local man that does all my cars.

Have a look at the severe maintenance schedule in the manual and it will provide all the proper intervals in regard to what you want to change as far as fluids. Mileage wise, and time wise.
Look under the Service and Maintenance section and it will provide good specific information.
For example the clutch fluid is for 45,000, or 3 years. Whichever occurs first.

Changing fluids is not difficult, but can be messy and the diff oil stinks. Nothing wrong with paying someone to do it for you.

As mentioned, don't forget to do the brake fluid. Probably the most important and often overlooked. Every 2 years.
