Rear hatch won’t open
My 2016 Z51 C7 has a problem with the rear hatch not opening.
The car sat in the garage for several weeks without starting.
When I started it yesterday it cranked slowly, then started.
The radio presets went blank but returned to normal.
I had the “year & half” old battery checked today, all good.
Rear hatch won’t open with remote or inside dash button.
No clicking noise either.
ANY help appreciated,
thank you

Open with the key in the slot above the plate. I believe doing so will reset it. Also make sure to fully charge the battery.

Either try manually opening it or maybe pull the fuse for a few minutes to reset it?

If you are going to let the car sit for weeks at a time, you need to have a battery maintainer on the car to keep from having issues like you had from happening again.

I opened it with the key above plate. Did not reset.
Battery is fully charged.
Will install battery tender tomorrow and pull fuse to see if that gets it.
Thank you

Re-index the windows, and see what happens.

2 votes for this. Your battery got too low and the windows lost their index settings.

Don't forget the car could be in valet mode, which disables the trunk.

Did this and still no joy?
Once power is restored:
1. Close the doors.
2. Start the vehicle.
3. Put windows down
4. Raise each window and hold the window switch up in the fully closed position for a few seconds after the window is up.
Drat.

Fuses are in the hatch under the carpet.
You need to look for fuse 26 and 31.
From 2016 manual
Here is a picture of the location.

If the fuses check out then check the wiring harness is secure to the latch release mechanism. If they are secure, it could the trunk release module or the trunk release latch that has gone bad. If you are still under warranty, I would take it to the dealer to get fixed.

Is it possible a mouse got in to your wiring?

On the convertible, a loss of power and no index will stop the top from working. Index is very inmportant to a lot of systems. It was worth a shot.
