my 2014 stingray non npp has only 13000 miles on it,should i consider disabling the afm before i start having lifter problems? are there issues with these on new vettes? would like to know more before moving on to a after market exhaust. had a 2010 ZO6 and was always worried about the heads on it but never had any problems with it and drove it to 60000 miles and it was still running strong. any suggestions?
Arent the lifter issues with the Eco-mode that keeps firing on the same 4 cylinders?

For what it's worth,I have no clue if AFM is problem but I dropped a valve due to a broken valve spring at 34,000
I now have tune out AFM , for the few miles a gallon its not worth it to me , I want a V8
It's more of a calculated choice than it is a recommendation. Many of us that have, and does own a "15-'17 C7 car with the A8 have had transmission and torques converter problems. In some cases many have reported that their car (including my previous '16) does much better when the AFM has been disabled. Mind you, this isn't all C7's in those years, and I have no idea what percentage of cars has problems. Many that have had problems, or in an attempt to avoid problems have bought the Range Technology V4 disabler. Just plug in into the OBD port, and no more V4 mode. I did, and it helped my '16. I now have a '19 GS with the A8, and have run the Range disabler since I bought the car. After owning one that had some issues, I ain't taking any chances with this one. The Range may not help one bit, but it may. I'm going to hang my hat on the "It may" catagory.

After reading all the posts about issues I disabled the AFM and have never looked back .. 39,000 miles and my trans shifts fine . Dont know if I ever would have had issues but did not want to find out
If I never go into ECO mode, AFM never gets triggered?

AFM will not be triggered in modes other than ECO if you have a manual transmission. If you have an automatic, AFM can be triggered in all modes, but more prevalent in ECO
I just installed the Range Technology AFM disabler and WOW! what a difference it makes. This thing works exactly as advertised and makes driving my 2014 Stingray more enjoyable than ever. I highly recommend this add on.
