For NJ license plate violations, during the past five years, the highest number of summons written was 87,195, issued in 2014. Out of those 72,188 were

found or pleaded guilty - so these numbers tell me that you WILL get caught.

If you install a fake plate (one that is not physically attached to your car legally) then its an additional $500 fine on top of the ones already mentioned.
I have lived in south Jersey since 1989 and have had numerous cars over the years without front plates. Never received a ticket. I drive at least 100 miles a day and am friends with a few local officers, honestly most LEO and troopers are very cool and reasonable. Unless your driving like an *** they don’t write tickets for BS stuff. I am sure the people who got tickets for no front plate were pulled over for something more serious and either caught a break or got lit up for doing something stupid.

One of the joys of moving from Jersey to NC, no front plates are issued. Also generally car friendly DMV regulations.

Dude, I was born and grew up in NJ. Spent 24 years there before I wised up and moved away. Since then I've lived in 6 different states (TX, CA, AZ, WA, VA). Granted there are some "farms" they can't compare to the ranches around the country. There are blemishes in AZ as well as all the other states. But there are way better things (IMHO) in abundance especially in the South West, not to mention the fact that it's in the 70's here with no snow and no need to garage and hibernate your vette. You simply don't find roads like

in NJ which, BTW, vettes like ours LOVE! And you won't find that in NJ! THere's a highway in California witih 140 miles of twisty turns. And then things like PCH and Big Sur. It doesn't compare at all. You should get out more.

Let alone that, the attitude of people in other states when compared to NJ (and again I lived there for 24 years) is world's apart. NJ and NY people have a reputation and I can attest to the fact that it's 1) not pleasant and 2) well earned. Not saying everybody's like that but a lot are.

As for "You can't change the weather" - sure you can. Move! There is much better weather in many places.

I can assure you of one thing - I will never go back to visit NJ! I might go to NY to see a play but that'd be a quick weekend trip - in and out. I have no love for NJ at all and really no reason to go back.

Beating down on NJ is uncalled for, glad he is not coming back. Like most other states NJ has plenty of problems but that description is freaking harsh especially as it relates to the people that live here

I don't live in NJ, but I have been there several times, and have family that has lived there. If you live in South Jersey, I think you might be fairly safe, just as long as the local constabulary are not of the frivolous ticket writing variety. If you live in North Jersey, it would be a good idea to obey every law exactly as written. I have an aunt who lived in North Jersey for a while recently and she described it as a "police state".

Well I lived in North Jersey. South Jersey's better ('cept Trenton) but most states are a lot better.

Ever wonder why it's South Jersey but Southern California?

I used to think the same thing until I was forced to spend a weekend vacation in South Jersey. To my surprise, the area is full of small businesses, family owned restaurants and shops. The people I met were friendly and pleasant to speak with. As much as I hate to say it, I would probably go back again if asked!

Considering the endearing persona he exhibits on here, it's not surprising that he had a bad time while he was in NJ.

no, you know a very small percentage of people who you didn't get along with, it's not surprising that you didn't encounter anyone nice, they probably avoided you like the plague.

In general (oh my! He's generalizing again!) when people go on vacation they tend to spend more money than they do when at home and do exciting things. It's no surprise to me that you found it pleasant. And yes, I agree, South Jersey has some nice things and nice areas, etc. - generally (there's that word again) better than Northern Jersey. But you can find small businesses, family owned restaurants and shops in every state and every area with nice people. But in my experience you get less of that in NJ and more of that in other states. That's all I'm saying.

However, there's no denying really that New Yorkers and New Jerseyans have a well known reputation that is not exactly flattering and really, such repuations don't develop in a vaccuum. There's usually a large kernal of truth in such things.

WOW, Geeze I didn't ask for all that information. BTW I do live on a 40 acre farm. Its Gods country. All my family live here in N.J, the Garden State. Glad you finally found a good place to live after 6 tries. Thank you for moving, you sound like one of the people you were describing .

And, of course, you know a vary large percentage of people... Spare me!

For the record, there were people I liked who liked me and people I didn't like and who didn't like me and combinations thereof. But the overall experience was and remains not very positive. Again, there's a reason for the reputation and it's not just me who says it. Deal with it.

hahaha, thanks for proving my point. You're the definition of the type of person you describe and hate.

You just can't make this stuff up. You just can't hahahahaha

I guess NY and NJ has 1 less dbag now that you've left, On behalf of all of the nice people that i know, thank you for thinning the dbag herd lol

In NJ all my life. Back in 2003 I bought a new car and went 14 ,months without a front plate without issue. Then got stopped twice in ten days just for the missing front plate. Once by a townie and once by a trooper. Neither had any interest in my explanation once they saw the date on my registration.Cost me $79 each time, so I got a mount that didn't require drilling holes in the front bumper and got over it.
Didn't hesitate to use the aero panel on the Corvette. No holes/screws required
