My 2014 Z51 did not come with one either. That was only included for cars going to Europe where it's required.
They didn't start putting the threaded receiver on some dry sump cars (thought only Z06) until 2016 as I recall. My 2017 Grand Sport has receivers front and back but no toe hook. Have to buy that on your own.
Yup, I notice Z51, Grand Sport or Z06 has them, but not the base model. I just wanted to add the front tow hook only for looks since I plan to do upgrades. As far is lowering the car 1 inch with factory bolts, add wheels, and change the exhaust to Cat Back Borla Atak. Also add Zo60 Base model Stage 1 front splitter with the side rocker as well in carbon flash then I'm all set.
Our early build MY 2017 Z51 has the receivers front and rear. I bought the hook and store it in the provided location.
For those without the receivers, the hook and strap pictured in post #4 will do a good job, just so long as the car isn't sunk into mud/snow/gravel enough to bury the slots in the frame.
I carry a pair of the T-hooks just in case, but no straps- my cubby is full of other "emergency" gear and we need the trunk space for long road trips.
With the V-bridle and tow hooks, is it easy to get underneath and actually hook to the frame especially with the low clearance of a Z51?
If you are sitting on level pavement, no problem. You don't need to get yourself under the car, just your hand and the hook.
If you go off the road and sink into mud/gravel/snow, the car will likely settle down to the frame rails and you may need a shovel, or more. The one time it happened to me in our C5 (snow/ice), there was no practical way to dig enough to reach the slots or get the straps under the car. The tow driver found something under the rear end to loop his strap on and pull me out. I'm sure he didn't use any GM-approved location, but afterwards we couldn't find any damage or alignment issues.

I don’t have the tow hook receiver from the factory and didn’t realize when I bought my Tow Hook.
So I’ve studied the process to remove the front fascia and bolt on a receiver but didn’t want to go through the process to remove my front aero package and rivets etc.
I don’t track my car and I just like the look for appearance reasons only so I needed to be creative to find a solution and here it is.
The hardware is silver but this is the trial run and I drove the car about 60 miles to see how it would hold up or stay in place and it worked perfectly. I now will try to find the washers in black or just paint the silver ones black so that they blend in which I likely will do since HomeDepot didn’t have black ones.
Disclaimer Alert! This Install is for Appearance Looks ONLY and CANNOT be used to tow!

Yes. It is relatively easy. Just toss the hooks underneath and go to one side and then the other with something to grab each one and hook to where you would ordinarily have lift pads in the two front holes. These bridles are really good in that when the tow vehicle hooks to it and starts to pull, it will gently lift the front of the car as it goes up the ramp. Very slick. How do I know? A friend of mine has a tow business and we tried it with mine to ensure no damage would occur and see how the bridle would perform. I don't have a Z51, but that will not be an issue even with the spoiler. Highly recommended product.

I don't understand towing the car from a hook on the side, not the middle.
That is what is done in Europe all the time! Not sure if the main reason is pulling closer to a side frame etc. But pushed many a car in my early days from a back corner. Don’t know why this concern that it won’t pull straight on the flatbed!?
My wife’s BMW SUV is offset to the passenger side just like my Grand Sport! It works!
